Ms Irene Chan: All you need is love. But how do we operationalise love within organisations?

Many health services list compassion as a core value. But what does this look like in day-to-day practice? #SPCC2026

Sister Geraldine Tan: the only death (patient) that matters is the one in front of you #SPCC2026

Prof Eric Finkelstein @dukenus_lcpc asks his "friend' (a.k.a. @ChatGPTapp) what is happening with life-expectancies & healthcare costs in Singapore: both are increasing.

He then asks: is this bad? 🤔

Friendliness isn't always a sign of trustworthiness. Warmth is easy to fake.

The foundations of trust are reliability and integrity. What counts isn't courtesy in the moment—it's keeping commitments over time.

The best way to inspire confidence is to consistently walk our talk.

Emotion regulation is not about denying your feelings. It's about choosing a constructive response.

Victimhood is blaming others for what you feel. Regulation is taking responsibility for how you react.

A key to resilience is expanding the space between stimulus and response.

"The fact that we don't produce medications in Australia, particularly these critical medicines … I think that's one of the reasons we've got ourselves into trouble” ⁦- Dr Michelle Gold @ANZSPM⁩ #PalliativeCare #PallANZ ⁦@Pall_Care_Aus⁩ https://t.co/YNJVMMG2JY

Psychological safety is not about withholding criticism. It’s about enabling people to speak up without fear.

The goal is not to lower our standards. It’s to replace knee-jerk reactions with open-minded consideration.

All ideas are welcome. Not all views are equally valid.
