Every step of my journey—from homelessness to the State House—has been guided by fearless faith. Faith that rises to meet every challenge with purpose. Today, I’m announcing my campaign for Governor of South Carolina. Our best days are ahead. #JohnsonForSC#ANewSC#SCGov

This past weekend, we traveled across SC meeting people where they are. From North Charleston to Columbia, Orangeburg, Finlay Park, and church on Father’s Day, every stop reminded us why this movement matters.

Happy Father's Day to all fathers, stepfathers, mentors, coaches, pastors, and father figures.
Fatherhood is about more than biology, it's about showing up, leading, teaching, and loving. Some of the greatest fathers are the men who chose to step up. Enjoy your day #NewSC
Yesterday, we celebrated Juneteenth with families, community leaders, and young people across SC.
We honored the past, celebrated the progress we’ve made, and recommitted ourselves to building a better future.
The work continues.

Imagine spending your whole campaign trying to earn a single endorsement, only for the man to endorse you and your opponent!
If you want a governor who will focus on solving the issues of SC, I am your man.
Honoring freedom. Honoring history. Honoring the unfinished work.
Juneteenth is a reminder that freedom delayed is freedom denied, and that progress only happens when people are willing to fight for it.
As we reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of those who came before us, we also recommit ourselves to building a South Carolina where opportunity, dignity, and justice are within reach for every family.
Between 2021 & 2023, 28 people in my community died because they could not be brought to a hospital in time. From asthma attacks to complications in childbirth, these were preventable deaths that tragically were the result of lack of access to health care in rural Lower Richland.
I invited the CEO of MUSC out to my house and drove him around my district to show him the lack of medical infrastructure here. We worked together to get this amazing new center built.
11 years ago, nine worshippers were murdered at Mother Emanuel AME Church.
Today, we honor the Emanuel Nine and recommit ourselves to the work of justice.
South Carolina still lacks a statewide hate crimes law.
Their memory deserves more than remembrance. It deserves action.
Last night wasn’t just a celebration. It was proof of what’s possible when people come together for something bigger than themselves. This victory belongs to every volunteer, every supporter, every donor, and every voter who believed SC deserved more.
Thank you for your trust.
WE DID IT, SOUTH CAROLINA.
This victory belongs to every volunteer, donor, supporter, and voter who believed our state deserves more.
Thank you for your trust. Thank you for your support.
Tonight, we celebrate. Tomorrow, we get back to work.
Together, we’re building a #NEWSC.
The best conversations don’t happen behind closed doors. They happen where people are.
Today, I spent time with voters and poll workers across SC, listening, learning, and showing up.
South Carolina deserves leaders who spend more time with people than with political insiders.
Campaigns are powered by people, and I couldn’t do this without my biggest supporter by my side. After a long day on the road, I’m grateful for my wife, whose strength, love, and sacrifice help make this journey possible.Thank you for walking every step of this road with me.❤️
Meet Florence.
After getting off work, she didn’t go home and call it a day. She got behind the wheel of her church bus and helped make sure voters could get to the polls.
This is what democracy looks like. Neighbors helping neighbors. People showing up for their community.
Rock Hill reminded me what people-powered politics looks like. From conversations at the York County Democratic Party Headquarters to meeting voters who are doing the work every day, the message was clear: people are ready for leadership that listens, shows up, and delivers.
