Grad Students: Be prepared to cut people off outside of academia. If a “friend” of yours doesn’t understand or want to read your research, it’s not wrong to cut them off. Or at least to set some serious boundaries. As a scholar, you are learning and growing. They are stagnating.

Today was the hardest day I have had. We made the decision to put down my dog. He best person I have know. If I was half the person he thought I was, the world would be a better place. He was a source of support for many, and inspiration too. We will miss you so much, Boo-boo.

After living all over the country, I know understand the following:

Winter in NoDak: It’s below zero, and it’s snowing. So in order to see out your windshield, the inside of your car has to be approximately 110 degrees, and you’re all bundled up so you’re overheating and kind of nauseous.

@ArchboldCarol My brother was a nuke in the navy (SSN-698). He eventually went on to help build the USS Hawaii. The road is long and intense, but one that is desperately needed. Congrats to him.
