He said they are currently counting the number of Burkinabè students who are studying overseas. Out of 1000 students in Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦, over 800 of them left the country without the government knowing.

Our embassy over there has no record of them. And guess what those 800 people are studying? Charia law and Islamic laws and none of them is learning a trade.

So, he asked: where are they intending to apply those laws? In Burkina Faso 🇧🇫? Not here. Captain said he is going to bring them back home, and if they refuse, then they are no longer Burkinabè.

Will your country ever address this? Radical islam is a cancer that needs to be addressed. If we pretend as if it’s not a threat to Africa, we are just fooling ourselves. Terrorism started with them. Remember, the imperialists are always using religion and ethnicism to divide Africans.

Ibrahim Traore confirms he was advised to make Burkina Faso a Muslim state.

He rejected this because it’d allow the ‘cancer’ of Islam to spread across west Africa.

He says Islam is a force of destabilisation for which Burkina Faso will not be a base.

With all due respect, this is too much talk.
WHAT CAN WE DO?

The flood issue in Lagos did not happen yesterday nor is it a new development. This is a problem that has existed long before you assumed office and it seems as though no solution has been implemented thus far. This is the issue!

I say this with the full understanding that the rise in water levels during this period is not particular to Lagos or Nigeria alone, but these other regions have somehow found a way around it. This is what everyone is asking for. What is the way forward?

We can’t stop the water/rain, you’ve listed out all the issues the ministries is currently facing, we have seen the gap and understand the challenges - so what’s the next step now?

Everyone has an opinion, everyone is disgruntled and everyone who is affected by this will surely leave comments and call your attention to the matter because again, it is affecting their daily lives. You are responding to Gbadebo telling him what the people of Lagos need to know. I can only assume it is as a result of your dislike for him and also in an attempt to gag him. But again Mr Tokunbo, let us put politics aside.

If there’s a flood today, yourself and Gbadebo will go to bed peacefully without having to worry about suffering any negative health effect or damage to lives and property. This is not the reality for majority of Lagosians and that is why the cries have gotten louder. Again, I ask, what can we do?

You have the data, you have read and studied it, you understand it much more than any of us could and I imagine you’re at a crossroad of implementation and contemplation - because your tenure will soon be over. You’ve done a good job so far, I must commend you but this shouldn’t be the focus right now. There is still so much more you can and to be done. You are still the Honorable Commissioner, Ministry of Environment and Water Resources for another 11 months and Lagosians need solutions. If this is something that requires collaborative efforts, please let us know. No one will interpret it as a failure on your part. Lagos is for all of us and we all need to find a way to make it work.

So again I ask sir, what can we do, as citizens of Lagos first, to address this crisis before it becomes something without our control.
