Arsenal won the 2025/26 league with Europe's meanest defence. But we lost the Champions League final to PSG. Why? The answer is in midfield. A deep dive on what's missing and how we fix it this summer 🧵👇 #Arsenal #AFC #COYG

@CricHive_pk Probably not KP. He played 3 years for QG. Maybe it's not QG, it's LQ, belonging to Khi for their rivalry.
Baz played 2 seasons with LQ, finishing last twice. Baz criticised team for lack of application. Notably had a spat with Umar Akmal, but Salman Agha spoke well of Baz

@beingblackie_ Did you follow Arsenal in 2015? Wenger was going places to keeo Ozil as CAM. He played Cazorla as CDM and Ramsey as RW

[Draft 4 Analytics @Draft4Analytics]

Half agreement here. Tabish and Tanveer were probably given an opportunity too late. Sohail Khan by the time he made comeback in 2015 had already lost a lot of his pace. Sami got a lot of chances though. At the same time though, Wahab Riaz was given countless opportunities

@CallMeSheri1_ In 2026, Pakistan T20 team averaged 7.5 sixes per inninings vs Associate teams in the world cup (across 3 games), 8.0 sixes/innings vs SL, BAN & AUS depleted side, and the figure drops to 5.7 in 3 games vs top opposition including IND × 2 (including Asian Games) and ENG × 1

[Draft 4 Analytics @Draft4Analytics]

@abubakartarar_ Great analysis. Do you think Sahibzada should swap his spot for 1 down if that's the case?

[Draft 4 Analytics @Draft4Analytics]

@thepctarmy BREAKDOWN

PP RR of 9.36 in 15 games.

3/15 games vs NED/US/NAM (PP-RR 9.11).

5 vs SL, 1 vs BAN, 3 vs depleted AUS, PP-RR of 10.43 in those 9 games.

2 vs Ind, 1 vs Eng: PP-RR remained 6.83. Also losing avg. 2.67 wickets in those games. Lost all 3.

We still lose when it matters

@rajatahir27 Don't think Maaz slowed down intentionally. Wasn't able to pick the slow bouncers at the end.

And we would have not even reached 200 the way our "aggressive" openers had started.
39 balls for the first 50 runs. Farhan ended Powerplay with 24 off 20 and Fakhar with 22 off 16.

Gyokeres: boss I’ve had a good international break and Kai is injured you think I can start today?

Arteta:

@DeafMango Sahibzada, Fakhar, Maaz, Hasan, Arafat, Nafay, Samad, Imran, Naseem, Moqim

Keeps batting line deep on a batting friendly Pindi wicket

5 bowlers + 1 part time option in Maaz Sadaqat

Gives Abrar a rest, and allows rotation with Moqim

@fkrharral Should have been Haseebullah or Haris anyday. Saad is good, but should first spend good time with the Pakistan A side

[Draft 4 Analytics @Draft4Analytics]

@AhmerNajeeb Razaullah makes little sense. He has never been ready for international cricket regardless of Test or T20. I don't get why people are saying his selection is on the basis of a Test match. He looked immature as a bowler in the Test match and batting....should we rely?

[Draft 4 Analytics @Draft4Analytics]

@DeafMango Why has Haseebullah been completely sidelined

[Draft 4 Analytics @Draft4Analytics]

@AhmerNajeeb Agree on a lot of these points.

Pakistan needs to move forward in terms of T20 cricket.
Haseebullah has been grinding himself for some time now in domestic circuit, and deserves a continuous run in T20 side, as a modern day T20 anchor you mentioned.

What do you think of this ⬇️

Will this XI lose games? Probably.

The question is whether #Pakistan wants to spend another 2 years patching together T20 sides for the next bilateral, or spend those 2 years building a team with defined roles for 2028.

Give the next generation an identity

@RayhamUnplugged Pakistan should be bold and push the reset button on T20I cricket, to build a team that plays a modern brand of cricket and is able to compete with the best by the time next T20I World Cup arrives

@DoctorofCricket Really hope that isn't the case. The young team from Asia Cup should be given a continuous run of games
And as good as a batter Babar is, it is high time, for his own benefit, to take a break from T20 cricket.

Pakistan Cricket needs him more to get his form up in ODI/Tests

Pakistan shouldn't pick a T20I squad to beat Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi.

They should pick one that can challenge for the 2028 T20 World Cup.

With the squad announcement reportedly imminent, here's my idea for a genuine Pakistan T20 reset, built around roles, not reputation.

🚨 INSIDE: PAKISTAN SQUAD UPDATE 🇵🇰

- Babar Azam, Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah and Fakhar Zaman will be part of Pakistans T20I squad for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. 🔥

- The three-match T20I series begins October 9 in Rawalpindi.

I'd do something similar with Saim, Usman Khan & Wasim Jr after the Asian Games.

Let them play domestic cricket, including longer-format cricket. Work on their basics and come back better.

Selection should be a pathway, not a lifetime membership.
