Marvel accidentally created the biggest problem for Tom Holland's Spider-Man.

Four solo movies later, and he still doesn't have a single iconic Spider-Man villain that's actually his.

Vulture's conflict was because of Tony Stark. Mysterio wanted revenge on Iron Man. No Way Home brought back Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Electro, Lizard and Sandman but they all belonged to other universes, not the MCU's Peter Parker.

Then Brand New Day doubled down on the problem by making the main threats mutant/X-Men characters instead of classic Spider-Man villains. Even if the movie works, it's another film where Peter isn't building rivalries with his own rogues gallery.

Now Marvel has backed itself into a corner. Peter has already met versions of Norman Osborn, Otto Octavius and Curt Connors, so introducing traditional MCU versions with the same emotional connections won't have the same impact.

Spider-Man's greatest strength has always been his villains. Four movies in, Tom Holland is still borrowing everyone else's.

3. smart hulk is Banner’s mind in control of hulks power (the real hulk isn’t there but dormant like the reverse in ragnarok)

🚨 Bruce Banner forgot Peter Parker after Doctor Strange's spell but Spider-Man: Brand New Day finally proves that Hulk never did

Peter visits Banner for help with his mutation. To protect his identity, he introduces himself as Ned Leeds instead of Peter Parker.

Later, Jean Grey removes Banner's inhibitor and forces him back into Savage Hulk. She controls him for a while, but can't keep Hulk under control.

As Savage Hulk attacks Spider-Man, Peter says, "I'm your friend, Peter." He says Peter, not Ned.

The name triggers something in Hulk. His rage fades, and he calms down, letting Banner return to his human form.

This suggests Strange's spell erased Banner's memory, but not Hulk's. It also shows Hulk's mind is far harder to control or erase.

If Doctor Doom later wipes everyone's memories in Battleworld, Hulk could be one of the few heroes who still remembers everything, giving him a major role in Avengers: Secret Wars.

But she had already mind-controlled an innocent man into walking in front of a moving car.

Hulk recognized the term “friend” when Peter says “I’m your friend” realizing Peter is a friend of Banner meaning he fell back and chilled out because spider-man is banner’s friend

The MCU forgot that Frank Castle is a wanted man.

He’s not going to hang out at the hospital waiting for Spider-Man like the SOFT character they’re trying to turn him into, he’s going to get right back on the street!

Maybe the filmmakers creating this unwatchable slop should try reading a couple of Punisher comics so they can get it right for a change. Lazy!

Nah, not the whole city, it may not have been shown to explain it, but Jean focused on Mj and Ned specifically to trigger subconscious fragments of their memories kinda like in X-men apocalypse when Jean and Scott cross paths with Logan for the first time

Nah, you’re actually right, and it’s not like people are forgetting something, it’s just a real hole in the movie nobody’s explained. Hulk straight up tells Peter ‘Banner forgot, but I don’t forget,’ so the film’s confirming he’s somehow immune to the spell

But here’s the thing, Hulk was off-world for basically all the time Peter was running with the Avengers. He never actually met Spider-Man. So how’s he remembering someone he never crossed paths with? Feels like Marvel just hoped nobody would notice.
