Odată ajunși pe pagina falsă, li s-a cerut să introducă fraza de recuperare (cele 12 sau 24 de cuvinte). În doar câteva minute de la tastarea cuvintelor, conturile lor au fost golite. Un utilizator a anunțat deja public că și-a pierdut absolut toate economiile de o viață exact în acest mod.
