The war on healthy levels of #VitaminD intensifies - article scaremongers, gives absurdly low blood level targets for 25(OH)D, and recommends ludicrously low intake IU's - BigPharma OWNS the system:

"If you implement a diet which dramatically reduces the amount of carbohydrates, you can reverse type two diabetes... reverse hypertension... reduce depression and anxiety by 79%."
"Not within years, within weeks."
I think you're great, but you're not right on this. This perspective simply serves to kick the problem down the road.
1. The drugs are GLP-1 receptor activators, not inhibitors.
2. GLP-1 is a naturally produced hormone from the intestines.
3. GLP-1 has numerous beneficial effects, including, and most especially, slowing the intestines (making people feel more full for longer) and activating satiety signals in the brain (making people experience less hunger).
4. The slowing of the intestines, in addition to reducing hunger, has an effect of substantially increasing nausea. Also, this can be so strong that some people die from the intestines slowing too much, which is lethal. https://t.co/UoSoDwHx02
5. This nausea can become so problematic, that 70% of users chose to stop the drug of their own volition at 2 years of use. https://t.co/PoKnlE27rf
6. Even those who continue the drug through two years, the benefits start to diminish, with a complete return of cravings to sweet foods. https://t.co/vuvQQUURhb
7. A substantial amount (~40%) of the weight lost while taking the drug is from fat-free mass, including muscle and bone. https://t.co/JZJkQpQJpW
With these points in mind:
1. What happens to body fat percent when a person stops the drug? We know they regain weight, but depending on age, the lost muscle and bone may never return. Body fat, unfortunately, has no problem returning. Thus, even if they weigh less after a year or so of stopping the drugs, they're fatter (as a percent) than they were before they ever started the drugs.
2. We ought to teach correct dietary principles, namely the value of carbohydrate restriction (and rejecting the value of calorie counting; more on this below). By reducing carbs, insulin comes down, which enables increased metabolic rate and energy wasting (via the production and elimination of ketones).
3. Additionally, low-carb meals increase natural GLP-1 by 2.5X more than a low-fat meal. https://t.co/ZQ3kshOgM2
Thus, rather than promoting a family of drugs with frustrating complications, we ought to provide better education on the value of four dietary pillars:
1. Control carbs: Don't eat carbs that come from a bag or a box with a barcode.
2. Prioritize protein: Eat high-quality protein (i.e., animal-sourced) often and freely.
3. Don't fear fat: All natural proteins come with fat; that's how we should eat it. Fat helps the guts digest protein better and promotes greater satiety. Avoid seed oils and focus on natural fats from animal and fruit (e.g., coconut, olive) sources.
4. Frequently fast: Once you learn to manage your macros (via the three points above), you're in a good position to burn your own fat for fuel and hunger often drops. Take advantage of this metabolic shift by eating less frequently.

Microplastics in your testicles?
This is how to reduce your exposure (do what's possible for you, don't let perfect be the enemy of good):
-Reverse osmosis filtered water + remineralization. Stop drinking from plastic bottles or cans lined with plastic (most don't realize cans are lined with plastic). (PMID: 35564678)
-Plastic cutting board-> Wood. Easy switch. Huge reduction. (PMID: 37220346)
-Remove carpet/polyester furniture which increase microplastics in the dust in your home. (PMID: 31756678)
-Rinse dishes before you eat off of them-minimize home dust ingestion, see above.
-Indoor air filter (see above)/ Open windows as much as possible. HEPA air filters should remove most indoor microplastics.
-Limit seafood (PMID: 30116998). This one will be controversial, but between PFAs, microplastics, and heavy metals do you really still think a pescatarian diet is ideal?
- Grass fed beef over grain fed beef. The latter will contain more microplastics due to plastics (garbage) added to feed. (PMID: 38159628)
- Natural clothing (Cotton, wool vs polyester), will also reduce PFA exposure. Wearing and washing polyester clothing releases microplastics into wastewater and home environment. (PMID: 32101431)
-Cotton bed linens vs polyester. Do you really want to breathe plastics particles all night?
-Eliminate seed oils. Yes, microplastics found in these and getting them out of your diet will have many health benefits. (PMID: 38295567)
-Minimize processed food consumption, especially those in plastic containers (or vacuum sealed plastic) for long amounts of time.
-Minimize meat in plastic. Nothing is perfect here but getting meat freshly packed from a local butcher in wax paper seems ideal if you can.
-Move to the middle of the Amazon, make a loincloth out of animal skin, live in an open air hut, hunt wild game and pick fruit off trees, drink exclusively from a Tapir bladder.*
*This one is a joke. Or is it?
Obviously it's IMPOSSIBLE in 2024 to completely avoid microplastics, but taking steps to minimizing your exposure seems like a good idea.
What did I miss?
phc2024 the neck connects the head to the body. Shock horror gasp! We need to realise that metabolic disease in the body is going to affect the brain!! @driaincampbell
This is the full interview and it’s such a satisfying watch to see Suella Braverman get completely owned by a student advocating for Palestine and putting Britain 1st.
(must stress not in the racists view of Britain 1st)
Enjoy 🤝 🇵🇸❤️
"I don't think Suella Braverman is worthy of them getting out of their tents to debate her...."
A student from Cambridge University defeats Suella Braverman in a matter of seconds.
#phc2024 most diseases are actually exposures, so get the hell away from the exposure! If you have lead poisoning then get rid of the lead. Taking drugs won’t help! Dr Anthony Chaffee
