@tangerine_dogo@BBCAfrica @bbcBola The story did not resurface, rather it surfaced. This is the reality. We can flood you with videos and testimonies but it won’t help. We support Ukraine in this hard times but at what expense when we are treated like lesser than homeless animals?
@tangerine_dogo@BBCAfrica @bbcBola So our experiences at the hands of Ukrainian border officials should be invalidated? Africans/Indians and Arabs are getting treated like lesser animals. We spend 5 days in the cold & aren’t allowed to cross!
I see you don’t have a problem with that, it’s all hoax, right?
@Vikram978587701 @bsant54 @dwnews Really, I understand both sides of this dilemma. But I’m calling for fairness. People are standing in the cold without shelters, tea, warm blankets & etc
I waited stood from 4 pm -11AM b4 my passport was taken. Anytime it got to our turn we were yelled at & sent back.
@Vikram978587701 @bsant54 @dwnews There are black Ukrainian citizens who are also by obligation of law are fighting on the Ukrainian side. I love Ukraine and want fairness. What is happening at borders is distasteful!
@Vikram978587701 @bsant54 @dwnews Your last sentence is so wrong that I couldn’t but laugh. I have lived in Russia and 14 years in Ukraine. If a Russian soldier was to appear there. I’ll be killed first, Russian discrimination is up there in the spectrum!
@bbygrlpt2 @JenniferPeetes @dwnews You can be soulless & wear racism as a cloth. But remember the people bombarding Ukrain, killing men, women, and children are not Africans. They are the same ppl with blue eyes and white skin. They are not foreign students.
Hate defies logic.
Regards!
@bbygrlpt2@dwnews Why should I fight a war that isn't mine? If my land was invaded why do I expect someone else to stay and fight, I have African friends who have Ukrainian passports, they didn't flee!
As a foreigner, we are giving all support to Ukraine. I'm jobless, i left everything behind!
@newcleayeah @einsce@dwnews The Polish side is the opposite. From the checkpoint is swift, they have warm shelters, they provided free transport, warm shelters, they provided sleepers, food, and medication. At the shelters, everyone is welcomed! Volunteers are providing help to everyone.
@bbygrlpt2@dwnews There was nothing of such at the Hrusiv-Budomeirz border. Absolutely! But I know the method you are using. It's nothing new! Btw I fled with Ukrainian friends who can testify to this, but you will call them saboteurs. I just wonder the diff btw Putin's mentality & ppl like you.
@bbygrlpt2@dwnews You weren't at the border, I was. But you feel more confident with information than me.
I experienced it, you didn't!
I documented it, you didn't!
But you know a lot better and I need to wake up, right?
@bsant54 @dwnews I live in Ukraine and I work in Ukraine. Even if I will come to Italy I must exit from the Ukrainian border. And won’t escape the treatment! What’s your point, mr?
@bsant54 @dwnews I have visited Italy a lot of times. What’s your point? I have explained the situation to you and you are now diverting the topic. I can send you videos of my students who were denied boarding the train in Kiev.
@einsce@dwnews No, it’s not about visa. You don’t need a visa to exit Ukraine. It’s about them preventing us from crossing to the Polish side and getting to safety.
They keep pushing Africans in the queue to the back anytime it gets to our turn. I stayed in a queue from 4pm-11AM.
@bbygrlpt2@dwnews Now this is getting media attention and the Ukrainian officers are stopping people from taking videos and deleting those who had.
What are they hiding?
@bbygrlpt2@dwnews The lady at the Budomierz body told us to our faces that we are not their priority, they are Europeans and we are not! Those were her words.
I lived in Ukrainian long enough & expected such treatment. I came prepared but was still overwhelmed.
@bsant54 @dwnews Most of them are students who legally reside in Ukraine & to LEAVE Ukraine one doesn’t need visa. The Ukrainian authorities are not letting Africans pass to the other side of the border. I was freezing in the cold with nothing at 3 degrees. It’s not about VISAS….
@bsant54 @dwnews You are absolutely wrong!
The issue isn’t about visas. You can read on my timeline. I spent over 18 hours in the queue ie from 4pm-11:1am at the Ukrainian side of the border. Africans/Indians were constantly sent to the back of the queue. I have documented this experience.
