This is the scenario in Rajasthan, which is a political hotbed of nefarious elements in medical education. The appointing authority is being pressurised by the lobbyists from hiring eligible faculties with medical MSc/PhD qualifications. Ultimately, it is the medical students who suffer due to the prejudiced politics of a few individuals and the regulator. It's disappointing that the ministry @MoHFW_INDIA has allowed itself to be sidelined and ignored.

Mere opening of medical colleges in itself isn't sufficient. What quality of IMGs are we producing? Who is responsible and accountable for this situation?

There are some medical colleges where certain departments, including clinical specialties, have zero faculty, yet they are allowed to carry out the MBBS course.

Many lack the minimum requisite infrastructure and patient load, yet they are permitted to continue the MBBS course.

Hardly any medical college fulfills all of the NMC's minimum guidelines, yet they are permitted to function.

After obtaining NMC's recognition, some colleges reduce faculty positions to maximize profits.

Almost all inspection/assessment events are staged, including ghost faculty and ghost patients. None of these deficiencies, and more, seem to affect the quality of medical education.

However, the presence of merely one or two teachers with recognized MSc/Ph.D. qualifications in the non-clinical subjects is portrayed to negatively affect the quality of medical education, whereas the remaining 70% of medical teachers in non-clinical specialties and 100% in clinical specialties have no obvious role to play.

Therefore, it is obvious that the @NMC_IND is deliberately ignoring all other glaring shortcomings like 'an elephant in the room' and going after minority teachers.

This has nothing to do with the quality of #medicaleducation; it is actually a political movement played by the regulator in cahoots with a section of non-clinical medicos.

NMC's role is to set and uphold standards of medical education, not to strive for filling PG seats or provide job opportunities to doctors. NMC must stop acting as a doctor's welfare association.

Both the union health ministry and the parliamentary committee on health and family welfare have made it clear that 'non-medical' teachers are valuable.

The UG board of NMC must drop its vicious campaign of hatred and discrimination and yield to the government's position.

We request the @MoHFW_INDIA to direct the NMC to withdraw its tainted MSR 2020/2023 regulations as well as TEQ and amend them suitably.

This will be in the best interest of all, and the painful, long, and expensive litigations can end.

When people assume a role as a faculty or tutor and become registered on NMC's AEBAS system, it is highly inappropriate to categorize them as a "new appointment" when pursuing re-employment at another college. This tactic is designed to hinder the reemployment of individuals who are at the receiving end of NMC's discriminatory policies.

This practice not only violates ethical standards but may also breach legal regulations. The "new appointment" designation should be reserved for individuals entering medical education for the first time, rather than those already integrated into the system. NMC must promptly address and rectify this misclassification.

NMMTA requests the honorable Minister Shri. @mansukhmandviya ji to take it up with the NMC and end the NMC's misdeed that is seriously affecting the livelihood of many members of our fraternity.

The basic clinical (pre and para clinical) department in a medical college consists of 70℅ MD/MS and 30% MSc/PhD, but only 30% is held responsible by the 70% for the falling standard of medical education.
