The Prophet (peace be upon him) said if you placed your tawakkul (reliance) on Allah with the trust He deserves, He would provide for you as He provides for the birds, who leave their nests hungry in the morning and return full at night (Sunan at-Tirmidhi 2344, graded sahih). The birds have no salaries and no savings! They wake up, they trust, and Allah feeds them every single day. How much more will he provide for his beloved servants!

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said the example of one who remembers Allah and the one who does not is like that of the living and the dead (Sahih al-Bukhari 6407). A heart without dhikr (remembrance) is not a quiet heart. It is a heart that has stopped breathing. My beloved, keep your tongue moist with the remembrance of Allah throughout the day (Sunan at-Tirmidhi 3375, graded sahih). It is the most weightless act, and the heaviest on the scale.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said Allah is more pleased with the tawbah (repentance) of His servant than a man in the desert who lost his camel carrying all his food and drink. The man lay down to die, then opened his eyes and found the camel standing right next to him (Sahih al-Bukhari 6309, Sahih Muslim 2747). Return to Him tonight. He has been waiting.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Your Lord is shy and generous, and when His servant raises his hands to Him in du'a (supplication), He is too shy to send them back empty." (Sunan Abi Dawud 1488, Sunan at-Tirmidhi 3556, graded sahih). Think about what that means. Allah is shy to refuse you. We are the ones who hesitate to ask. Raise your hands tonight and ask for the things you have been quietly wanting for years.

Allah gave us two tools for when life becomes too heavy. Sabr (patience) and salah (prayer). The ayah then tells us honestly that they are heavy, except for those with khushoo (focus and humility). If your salah feels like a burden right now, do not despair of Allah's mercy. It is a sign of where the heart is. Begin again, even if the steps are small.

There are people getting up right now while the world sleeps, not because anyone is watching them. The Prophet (peace be upon him) told us that in the last third of the night Allah descends and asks: "Who is calling upon Me that I may answer?" Ibn Al-Qayyim said fear without hope is despair, and hope without fear is arrogance. The balance lives in Qiyam (night prayer) before dawn. May Allah make us among those who rise.

Allah never promised the righteous an easy life. He promised them a good one, and there is a difference most people walk past without noticing. The companions lost everything they owned, and they still lived the best lives in human history. That should make us pause and look again at what we are chasing in this world.
