My tribute to Savio D'Souza, marathon runner, coach to thousands in SoBo, and more importantly, one of the finest human beings. @procamintl@TataMumMarathon

Aerobic exercise is an incredible way to increase your V02 max and increase the odds of you living longer.
But please don't use it as a weight loss strategy in isolation.
Great tool.
Wrong job.
Agree with @DBelardoMD. use of unproven supplements without specific deficiencies have not shown to help. Interesting that she uses the same phrase I do; with patients and gym rats, who OD on protein- at best you will have 'expensive urine', at worst, it can cause actual damage
More good news- you don't HAVE to achieve 10,000 steps a day for good health. For most health outcomes, 7,000 seems to be 'good enough'. Of course, there's greater benefit when at least some of them are done at a brisk pace. Bottom line- move more. Every bit counts.
What's the optimal number of steps of physical activity that is associated with multiple (9) favorable outcomes?
The largest, systematic review of 57 studies, 35 cohorts.
7,000 steps is clinically meaningful; some benefit also seen for 4,000 steps cf 2,000 steps @TheLancet https://t.co/nlL46KOE1v
@Gatorade - i've been using your product on my long runs (I live in India). Since the past few months, only the sugar-free version is available, which actually defeats the very purpose of why it was started- for providing sugar based energy for endurance training.
Was fun chatting with @nikunjdalmia on ET Now, about preventive measures for heart disease, including some interesting questions on diet and exercise. Interview is on youtube, too. @ICCPR_GlobalCR
