@s18thomas @WrayCharles You are welcome! In my opinion there is usually an easy way to think about this and other similar situations. If this was your mother, sister, wife or, if you are a woman, you, who would you want leading the care in this situation.
No offense but I bet it isn't ortho or OB. Lol

@s18thomas @WrayCharles The patient has a primarily medical issue. The cause was orthopedic but the life threatening issue is one where medicine should take the lead. Ortho and OB should be consultants. If I were that 24 wk pregnant woman with a fat embolization that's what I would want.

What if it was a fat joke directed at someone clearly struggling with their weight.
