just finished episode 7 and…
I’m genuinely speechless. In shock. I’ve always wondered if we would ever get THIS episode. And when we actually do… it’s literally perfect. Flawless. This is the peak of the show. This might be the best season, the final season most shows dream of.
This is honestly so refreshing in a world where so much of modern movie marketing revolves around influencers. This also speaks volumes about the level of confidence Universal has in this movie. Not even bothering with influencer promotion is pretty telling of how successful they think this is going to be. I don’t blame them though based on the success of Oppenheimer. I really think this could potentially surpass Oppenheimer’s success 😭
Universal has decided to skip having word-of-mouth (a.k.a. influencer) screenings for ‘THE ODYSSEY’.
Instead, the film will begin screening just for film critics after the world premiere screening on July 6.

Yes, they’re - *checks notes* - doing damage control by making announcements at an Annecy panel that was scheduled and prepped weeks/months in advance.
Much of the criticism is valid but it’s not NEAR as bad as people are saying. It’s just overwhelmingly okay.
If this was a Marvel film it would have a 70-80% on rotten tomatoes. Hell, Marvel has had probably 10 projects post endgame worse than this.
