FIFA has announced a series of suspensions and fines following the post-match confrontation after Spain’s 1-0 extra-time victory over Argentina in the 2026 World Cup final.

🔹 Leandro Paredes, Argentina - 10-match ban + $90,000 (about KES 11.65 million) fine

🔹 Nahuel Molina, Argentina - 7-match ban + $90,000 (about KES 11.65 million) fine

🔹 Thiago Almada, Argentina - 1-match ban + $30,000 (about KES 3.88 million) fine

🔹 Gavi, Spain - 1-match ban + $30,000 (about KES 3.88 million) fine

🔹 Roberto Ayala, Argentina official - 3-match ban + $30,000 (about KES 3.88 million) fine

Argentina’s football federation was also fined $321,000 (about KES 41.56 million) over several incidents during the tournament, including team misconduct, security breaches and discriminatory chants and gestures.

Argentina must also play its next two home matches with spectator capacity restricted to 50%, although part of the sanction is suspended subject to a probationary period.
