And then somebody comes and takes my picture. And someone else comes over with a big smile; she gives me a massive hug and whispers, “Thank you.”

Through the eyes of a clown: Israel after October 7th.
"October 8th, Soroka Medical Center in Beer Sheva, in the afternoon.
Ground floor, the large entrance leading to the E.R. and various departments.
A huge lobby, full of lost people...
Just standing there is so emotional, and I feel my eyes growing wet. Most people walk past, unresponsive. They don’t even cast a glance in my direction. Their eyes are open, but I’m not sure they really see what’s going on around them. I totally understand.
When a small child like Lavi, who has a chronic illness, comes into the ER once again, the decision to keep him in and transfer him to the children's ward can bring frustration, anxiety and sadness.

I gently held his hands, asking if he was in pain. He replied, 'No, thank you,' signaling that he needed rest. The nurse outside was overjoyed by his reaction and rushed to inform his family."
"Here's a tale I'd like to share," begins the medical clown known as "Mimi". "I visited the respiratory intensive care unit at Barzilai hospital alongside Elia, another medical clown named 'Boba'.

To our surprise, he opened his eyes. I was taken aback, even a bit frightened, worried he might be confused. I looked into his eyes and whispered, 'I'm Mimi, a medical clown. I sang for you.' 'Beautiful voice,' he said before closing his eyes again.

One of thousands of stories from this past week and it's important to share every story.
We arrived at the hospital to accompany this girl during her surgery, she comes from Be'eri where her mother passed away in her arms this past Saturday.
This is just one of thousands of stories that break our hearts into pieces, and as the days progress these hard to fathom numbers of dead and injured turn into the real life stories that give us an overwhelming understanding of the impact of this attack.
