I actually like how the movie humanized Mr. Krupp. In the books, he was just an asshole for the sake of, but the movie adds on to that by showing us how devoid of love he is in his personal life. So when he’s given the chance to be happy, he’s actually a pretty chill guy…
What worries me about this is Hollywood learning the wrong lessons. Like how they try to stretch-out scripts to make multi-part films because Harry Potter did it it Deathly Hallows and made bank. Are we going to see series finales make their way to the big screen?
Because they're not important to the plot.
Not every character needs to get named or talked about if they do nothing about moving the needle of the plot.
That would just be a waste of time and pacing.
