Officially joined @tudublin as @IrishResearch enterprise partnership post-doc scholar to develop a new evaluation of socially engaged art informed by its complexity rather than administrative criteria alone, with @CreateIreland.
@jamesmcconachi1 I dont usually get drawn into these things but I'd love to think we can call out racists and bigots without espousing superiority and pre-judging others choices of holiday, wedding, food, etc. Because that's called classism.
I'm undertaking @projectarts mid-way evaluation of their Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy and I want to include your perspectives. Your feedback is so important. So if you visit 'Project' regularly, sometimes, or even never, please take some time for this short survey!🙏
🗣️ We want to hear from you!
We've reached an important mid-way evaluation point for our TEDI Policy, and we want to hear different perspectives and experiences from our audiences, artists, collaborators, and the general public. By listening to how others are experiencing our efforts to create change, we can learn what is working well and what is more challenging.
Your feedback will take only a few minutes. All answers are confidential, and you will not be individually identified.

@ParaicMcQ@BenWalmsley I think there's a lot of precarious workers across all sectors who are experiencing similar deprivation in comparison to this over generalised "whole of society" though.
@Education_Ire Hourly paid lectures teaching 9 hrs p/w x 2 semesters wi ear €7930. Assistant lectures teaching full time (18hrs) earn €43,073 p/year. Theoretically teaching half this = €21,536. Simple math demonstrates ludicrousness.
HPAL systems must be redressed!
@TUIunion
@Education_Ire an hourly paid assistant lecturer (HPAL) teaching 9 hrs x 2 semester earns €7931.
An AL teaching 18 hrs (full time) earns €43.536 p/y.
(theoretically AL doing 9 hours earns 21.536)
Simple maths suggests the state is saving a fortune via HPALs. Redress needed!
I'm just going to say it HPAL (hourly paid assistant lecture-ing) is a crazy system, it may not have started off as exploitative but the way it seems to be used now is! this is not to point fingers at third levels insts alone but @Education_Ire!
@paulapnolan I usually don't do this, but what exactly is a scary character? While I appreciate there can be a lot of fear around dublin right now, I think we need to be careful of assumption/prejudice too.....
Create News #34 is now live online and winging its way to postboxes across the country! This issue features Dr. Gráinne Coughlan, postdoctoral researcher at TU Dublin, discussing assumptions around evaluation in conversation with artist Dr. Susanne Bosch:
