Today, I had the honour of attending the Infotrak Best Members of Parliament Awards at the iconic Villa Rosa Kempinski, Nairobi, in the company of my dear wife,First Lady Juliana Kivasu.

I am deeply humbled and grateful to have been ranked the 6th Best Performing Member of Parliament in Kenya. I am equally honoured to be recognized as the Best Performing Member of Parliament in Makueni County and the Best Performing Member of Parliament in the Eastern Region.
This recognition is not mine alone. It belongs to the great people of Mbooni Constituency, whose trust, unwavering support, and partnership continue to inspire me to serve with dedication, integrity, and purpose.

Every milestone we have achieved—from expanding access to quality education through bursaries and modern school infrastructure, to improving roads, rural electrification, water projects, security infrastructure, and the equitable distribution of NG-CDF resources—has been made possible by our shared commitment to transforming Mbooni.

I remain firmly committed to delivering even more for our people and ensuring that every part of our constituency continues to benefit from meaningful and sustainable development.

Thank you, the people of Mbooni, for believing in our shared vision. This award renews my resolve to serve you with even greater dedication.

@ledamalekina Well put, Senator. This law is discriminatory. Seeking elective office is like applying for any other job. Barring civil servants from contesting limits experienced leaders and leaves voters with fewer qualified choices. It's time this law was repealed.

Today was a fulfilling day at KMTC MBOONI CAMPUS in Tawa, as we continued our journey of transforming lives through education, and community empowerment in Mbooni Constituency.

I began the day by flagging off a one-day emergency response training programme for our boda boda riders. The training is aimed at equipping them with lifesaving skills to enable them respond effectively to road accident emergencies before professional medical teams arrive. Our boda boda riders are often the first people to reach accident scenes, and empowering them with these skills will help save lives while promoting road safety across our constituency.

Later, I had the privilege of commissioning the newly drilled borehole at Mbooni KMTC Campus, a project that will provide a reliable and sustainable water supply to the institution. For many years, the campus has faced water challenges, and I am delighted that through collaboration with the KMTC Board, this challenge is now being addressed for the benefit of both students and staff.

I also commissioned a modern three-storey tuition block comprising nine classrooms, a project fully funded through the NG-CDF at a cost of KSh 24 million. This investment will significantly enhance the institution's learning capacity and support the growing number of students pursuing healthcare training at the campus.

When Mbooni KMTC Campus was established in September 2019, it had only 46 students enrolled in two programmes. Today, the campus has grown remarkably to 840 students pursuing eight different programmes. This progress demonstrates what can be achieved through strategic investment in education and infrastructure.

My vision remains clear: to make Mbooni KMTC Campus the leading KMTC institution in the Eastern Region in terms of infrastructure, student enrolment, academic excellence, and overall performance.

I thank Dr. Job Nyakado, who represented KMTC CEO Dr. Kelly Oluoch, Deputy Corporate Communications Manager Mr. Hezron Ochiel, the Principal Madam Felistus Kimanzi, and all stakeholders who joined us today as we continue building a stronger and more prosperous Mbooni.
