Parents divorced when I was 6. Raised by my amazing Mum.
1st in family to go to Uni. Wanted to be a doctor since I was 14. Science teacher said I’d never make it, I showed him otherwise. Graduated with merit from Cardiff, now a GP. Never give up on your dreams #mypathtomedicine
@DunelmUK I visited your Fareham store during the week and think I accidentally left something behind. Ive lost count of the number of times i've tried ringing the store since to see if it's there...does no one ever answer the phone? Such poor customer service.
Had my #CovidVaccine yesterday & currently have a headache & feel exhausted. This is normal, this is what's supposed to happen & is nothing to fear. Feeling very emotional as I think about the wonder of science & how the tireless efforts of scientists have made this a reality.

@Pippinanna123 This makes me so mad. We’re all stressed & under pressure but behaving like this is unacceptable. In future if this happens to you again do what I do & contact the on call consultant through switchboard.
Reminded during a stressful morning of home visiting that it really is the small things that matter most. To the patient who gave me new batteries for my BP machine & let me use her immaculate toilet your kindness really made a difference & was so appreciated. #nhs#kindness
On #WorldCancerDay I am remembering my grandad whose lung cancer diagnosis first inspired me to become a doctor. Thinking also about all the patients I’ve lost over the years to #cancer & reflecting on what I as a GP can do to help increase early cancer diagnoses.
It’s #TimeToTalk day & never has it been more important in our profession to talk, to listen & to be there for each other. We are facing difficult times but just to know that my colleagues care & that they have my back is the greatest #resilience boost there is.

#TimeToTalk day is not just for the 1 in 4 that experience mental health problems. It is for us, as a wider society, every single one of us has mental health, and none of us are 'immune' from experiencing difficulties. Let's open the conversation and reduce the isolation.
@Dr_KarlOG I’ve been overwhelmed by the strength of support that has been shown to #BawaGarba in the last few days and the outpouring of support that I have witnessed between doctors. Really hope we can keep this going as without each other we really are lost.
@baby_dr_claire It’s not that I don’t believe in myself and my own abilities because I do, it’s just the knowledge that if things do go wrong (even things outside of my control) i can no longer rely on the system to support me. Feels like the crash mat has been pulled out from beneath us.
@kirstybaldwin3 I hope you had a better day today. You’re right it really shouldn’t be this hard...some days I could just run away from it all...but our patients need us, the alternative for them is unthinkable. Just need to make sure we keep supporting each other xx
@ashleydcohen Thank you for your support, it means a lot. Pharmacists I know are also under huge pressures. We don’t say it enough but doctors do really value the amazing job you do too.
Hospital ANPs are recognised and accepted by primary & secondary care for the hugely important & invaluable role they play. Why should Primary Care ANPs be treated with any less respect. This has to stop!!!

@DrHillyer Sad times indeed. ANP's are basically unrecognised by all outside primary care -"if you feel that this pt needs admission, ask the GP to refer her in" - the response I got from secondary care. They have no idea. We must all stick together.
