I was asked recently about where the styling of my photography comes from and it inspired me to write this short explanation for those interested in my work
Most of my art is meant to coincide with my mental health. I experience life as fleeting moments of good amidst a constant, crushing darkness. Slivers of gold in a sea of grey
The light never lasts long, but it is enough to lift the weight from my mind, even just for a moment. Like sun rays beaming through thick clouds. If you look through my work you will notice this theme persists
The idea of this inevitable darkness setting in, threatening to consume the only bright things in sight is no trivial way to feel. However, I have found that nature often mirrors this feeling and I have dedicated my life to capturing the moments where it does
My art stops at the crux, the pinnacle moment where either side could overcome the other. What happens next is up to you, the viewer, as it is up to me fighting the very same battle in my head every day that I breathe
I have always hoped that my art might serve as a reminder that there is beauty to be found in the moments in between. And while it’s true that the light can be lost at any moment, it prevailed long enough to be remembered
Maybe we can do the same

My view of the solar eclipse!
For this artwork, I wanted to focus on the vastness and depth of space as well as the cosmic event. Here is a limited edition! I hope you enjoy.

If you boarded a spacecraft and set out from the sun, past all the planets in our solar system, and out into the Oort Cloud between stars… the distance you just traveled would only cover a few pixels on this image.
A. Few. Pixels.

I knew he’d use me from the start, so I avoided him. But he was patient, and very polite, because he knew what I longed for. He dangled secrets, wove them like nets about me, until I was powerless.
"After that, there was the huge night again and the sound of stars turning and suns whispering to themselves and the sound of her heart, like another world in space." - Ray Bradbury
