@KFILE I’m so sorry. I’m a psychologist at a grief center and we have support groups to help process the grief of losing a child. Many parents find it helpful to be with others who get it. I wonder if looking for a support group in your area would be helpful. I’d be happy to assist
@Curawn_thewise@ChloeBailey Not diagnosing. You don’t have to have a diagnosis to see a therapist. I hope all her dreams are coming true and it can be helpful to talk about it. Unfortunately there is a stigma particularly in the Black community. That’s what got me in the field.
Thanks to Run and Remember, an event put on by Lost & Found Grief Center, we were able to pay tribute to my grandma. Thanks everyone for making this a great event that I can share with my family
Change is uncomfortable and hard as hell. When leaders expect others to change without participating + holding themselves accountable - it’s almost impossible. When leaders show up and model the vulnerability required for transformation change - it’s often unstoppable.
You are a well-intentioned friend if you have ever said "Call if you need me!" but that puts the burden on the already burdened. Try this instead:
1. Can I bring you dinner tonight?
2. Can I mow your lawn today?
3. Could the kids come over for a play date to give you a break
