@Giulio6686 Previously several. My goal with the current project is to power through and get it done without much realignment. This first game is intended to get my feet wet with the whole process. I have yet to finish / publish anything and thats the goal right now.
@Mortdog As someone just getting into it and looking to publish their first game more to get started/experience with the full lifecycle from dev to publishing, would you say that the above is still worth focusing on or is it more important to finsh that first project?
Back from a weekend away. I have a busy work week so going to try to get time for development when I can. The goal right now is to add the polish needed to make the game feel finished enough for a trailer and demo. Mostly animations and feedback. #gamedev#indiedev#solodev
Been doing some UI updates the last two days and its actually pretty crazy how much better it makes the game feel during testing. I know UI is an afterthought but sometimes making your demo feel more polished earlier makes you want to work on it so much more. #gamedev#indiedev
This is what I got done today. I changed the card selection menu to have some pop up displays and associated hint for select. Pretty happy with how it came out and nice to get it done today. #gamedev#indiedev#solodev
Spent the morning updating the UI for the card select screens. Will share the final result later tonight. I think its a lot cleaner now and leverages components from my last jam. #gamedev#indiedev#solodev
With all of the discourse about getting your game up sooner rather than later, I still cant decide. Should I make a steam page and use Demo/Early Access or should I use itch? #gamedev#indiedev#solodev
@FearMongrel Sounds like most people are just making their steam page earlier in the process and posting updates with that made early. Ideally steam will have to start tagging projects made with AI much more visibly and have a good validation system
@interesticks Awesome that you got back to it. Do you think early access was the right move or would you have preferred to start on somewhere like itch? I have been debating on itch first or straight to steam. Would love to hear your experience
@ichimirigo I feel like there is a bare minimum of visuals that makes it feel much more satisfying to improve from. Makes it feel like the concept is a bit more real that just working with plain shapes to start.
Works been crazy the last few weeks and I haven't had the time or energy to make much progress. Its unavoidable there will be some 0 days in the mix but a longer stretch like this is still a bummer. Need to get back in the swing of it soon. #gamedev#indiedev
@corbygames Yeah I've been real close to publishing an alpha build to itch and its taken me longer than hoped to get that last bit done. Leaning towards just cutting it off now to get it out the door
