@slimharbaugh@rmeicsU Fair question! They actually weren’t in the same conference until 2004 and each have history with the other teams in these leagues. However, I would want certain non conference games protected and played annually, and UVA-VT would definitely be one of those!
@IloveSunBelt@tweetsofcat Lol I thought about that too😂but someone had to get left out of the old SEC. And I actually think they could compete more consistently in a league with a few less blue bloods😅
@whatisupdog_@rycheryder@tweetsofcat I do like the idea of certain out of conference rivalries being protected games every year (FSU-UF, GT-UGA, USC-ND, etc). And VT-UVA would certainly fall under that too in my opinion
@whatisupdog_@rycheryder@tweetsofcat Funny for you guys to mention this; when I originally put this together I did have VT and Maryland flipped. But ultimately liked Maryland better in the ACC where they were forever. And VT has history with a lot of teams from the east, so it’s a good fit
@mickjamessport@tweetsofcat Allows for some variance in scheduling so it’s not exactly the same every single year. Can you imagine Ohio State playing that 9 game Midwest schedule, plus visiting Georgia and hosting Miami in the same year? I also support one cupcake game to finance the smaller schools still
@mickjamessport@tweetsofcat I’ve heard that opinion! However, one thing I really like about the 7 divisions of 10 is that it allows for everyone to play everyone in their league every year, no ducking. And still leaves room for 3 non conference games!
@LedgerHumble@__DylanRichards Right?? What’s crazy to me is that ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC are all making crazy money sharing the NFL. Don’t understand why that couldn’t be the case in a college league like this
@JFarfsing1980@RattlesnakeTex I see your point. But one thing I love about the 10 team leagues is that it allows for 9 conference games, plus 3 non conference. Which both seem like perfect numbers to me haha
