Last night after watching a group of my medical peers behaving really badly toward each other in a meeting, I did something different. I didn't really know many of them. They we're mostly much older and male. I stood up & called it out.
Here’s an article about preventing needle pain in kids.
We’ve set up a paediatric blood testing site at VCC Malvern that delivers gentle blood tests for children - we have a focus on comfort & preventing needle trauma. Come visit us!

Most adults with needle phobia trace it back to a single bad experience as a child.
That’s the problem we built the paed path service at Vic Children’s Clinic to solve with Australian Clinical Labs.
Now we’re trialling @smileyscope

We’ll look after you ❤️
This would be a good time for: a.) STRATCOM commanders who implement orders to fire nuclear missiles to read up on Nuremberg and prosecutions for obeying orders to commit war crimes; and b.) for cabinet members to reread the 25th Amendment and have each other on speed dial.
I've taught European history for 30 years. Americans have always asked me how the Holocaust was possible, how Germans could have enabled a madman reveling in mass murder to carry out his plans. Now we can see in real time how this is enabled; now we have front-row seats.
The biggest story in the world right now is that the president of the United States is a demented old man who takes pleasure in torturing and killing people and is committing crimes with impunity. And yet most legacy media outlets are too cowardly to tell it like it is.
To every kid with a learning disability: don’t let anyone — not even the President of the United States — bully you.
Dyslexia isn’t a weakness.
It’s your strength.

Thank you @AlboMP for coming to the @ArthritisAust celebrations & sharing your experiences of what it’s like to have family with arthritis.
So very hard.
It’s great to be able to make a difference in 2025.
We have loads more to do, particularly for children.
Let’s do it.
Nearly 1 in 7 Australians live with arthritis.
My mum was one of them, so I know the difference access to affordable treatment can make.
We’ve made medicines cheaper for millions of Australians - including adding arthritis medications to the PBS.
This morning at Parliament, Arthritis Australia told me how much this change will mean for people right across the country.
Dr David Champion looked after my mum when rheumatoid arthritis crippled her joints.
She was an invalid pensioner and she relied on access to affordable healthcare.
Because of Medicare - and doctors like Dr Champion - she got the treatment she needed.
Now we’re building on the promise of Medicare: cheaper medicines, more free GP visits and more free Medicare Urgent Care Clinics.
Because no matter your circumstances, every Australian deserves quality healthcare.
End of an era with the retirement of Dr Margot Nash from @RCHMelbourne - a lifetime of caring for patients & their families, & mentoring, caring & advocating for doctors in training and for improving the system.
Wishing her all the fabulous things for retirement.

COLLINS: You said that if SCOTUS said someone needed to be returned you would abide by that. You said that on Air Force One just a few days ago
TRUMP: Why don't you just say, 'isn't it wonderful that we're keeping criminals out of our country?' That's why nobody watches you anymore.
