My sincere condolences to his family, his team at the Nizami Ganjavi International Centre, the people of Azerbaijan and those that shared a cause with him. May Rovshan's soul rest in peace.
I have learnt with shock the untimely passing of Rovshan Muradov, Secretary General of the Nizami Ganjavi International Centre, Azerbaijan. Through his leadership, the Baku Global Forum has become a critical piece in international peace & security discourse. @NizamiGanjaviIC
I shall miss our back and forth brainstorming sessions, albeit at awkward hours given time difference and our constant global travel in the service of humanity.
At a personal level, I shall always be grateful for his moral & personal support to the Joyce Banda Foundation, particularly in girls' education & health. I shall truly miss Rovshan.
I’m delighted to join distinguished leaders, innovators & changemakers at the 2026 Africa Walk x Asian-African Chamber of Chinese Commerce and Industry Trade Mission in Abeokuta, Nigeria as we explore the future of partnership between Africa & Asia, @AACCI_NG
As frontline countries, what we need is action that matches words. Much has been said, but we need the pledged resources just as we work on other creative ways of raising funds to mitigate communities from adverse effects of climate change.
Following the inaugural Advisory Board meeting of the Climate Justice Impact Fund for Africa (CJIFA) at the PACJA Secretariat, H.E. Dr. Joyce Banda @DrJoyceBanda, former President of Malawi and Chair of the CJIFA Advisory Board, shared a powerful reflection on the urgency of climate justice for Africa.
“Grassroots communities already hold the solutions, what they need are resources, respect, and equitable partnerships.”
The launch of the Climate Justice Impact Fund for Africa marks a critical step toward restoring livelihoods, strengthening resilience, and ensuring food security across the continent.

Over the years, African women have become indispensable in peace & security architecture, hence contributing to Agenda2063. As we start the new phase of UNSCR1325, we are determined to face the challenges & maximize the opportunities that will create a prosperous Africa.
The 6th High Level Forum on Women, Peace & Security is underway in Tunis, in Tunisia, where we are also marking 25 years of UNSCR 1325. The Resolution was a breakthrough in enhancing the role of women in conflict prevention, resolution & conflict transformation.
I am honored to serve in this role. I have always believed that our combined efforts in everything that we do will have a positive impact on someone's life. One life changed at a time shall lead us to a better world for us all. https://t.co/r7hEDAKNUX
Women & the youth have to be central in the continent's search for long-lasting peace. The conference was held under the theme "Africa in an evolving world"
Today in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, I have stressed the need for action rather than eloquence in tackling Africa's peace & security challenges. In my remarks closing the 3-day 11th TANA High level Forum on security in Africa, I emphasized turning meetings into impact.
The African peace & security architecture has had enough meetings & policy documents that have not been or taken long to be implemented, hence excercabate Africa's conflicts. It can no longer be business as usual given changing geopolitics.
Based on RBM data, 🇲🇼Malawi is caught in a vicious cycle: the government runs large deficits and finances them through heavy domestic borrowing, draining liquidity from banks. To prevent a breakdown of the financial system, the Reserve Bank is forced to inject massive emergency liquidity—mainly via the Lombard Facility—so that banks can both survive and continue funding government borrowing. This cycle means fiscal indiscipline is dictating monetary policy, eroding central bank independence and posing serious risks to financial stability.
Our people need action & commitment to do just by them. It has been my life mission to serve my people with diligence and integrity. This plan shall turn around the country's challenges into opportunities.
Sunday tends to be a quite day at Kasungu boma. It's church time & soccer. But people of Kasungu turned out in large numbers to share in the PP Presidential candidate's vision & plans to rescue Malawi. @DrJoyceBanda emphasized that her quick-fix plan aims to stop economic chaos.
It is very important that our systems must work in the best interest of the majority of our people. I am therefore committed to operationalize the judicial reforms as recently passed by parliament.
Today, @DrJoyceBanda met with the Malawi Law Society to reaffirm the commitment to enforce the Judicial Reform Acts and related Governance Reforms.
It is on record that out of all the presidential candidates approached, she is the only one to have committed.

A few days ago, I took a break from the campaign trail & participated in a Presidential candidates debate. I shared my Party's vision & most importantly, our quick-fix plan to rescue the country from the economic crisis it is in. I am now back on the trail. More updates soon.
