This year, DHA marks two decades of service to the Mississippi Delta. It's been the privilege of a lifetime to lead this organization in improving health outcomes, raising child reading scores, and creating workforce training opportunities in communities across the Delta.

DHA graduated another group of workforce trainees from our LEADS program! Since 2015, DHA has enrolled more than 2000 Delta residents in our workforce programs. We're proud to partner with local colleges and training orgs to ensure local businesses have the workers they need.

DHA's workforce programs connect residents with good paying jobs and help local industries meet labor demands. They also help boost incomes of participants and allow them to lead more self-sufficient lives by advancing their careers.

Since 2015, our workforce programs have served more than 2,000 people and increased labor force participation in the Mississippi Delta. Data shows DHA programs have raised wages and reduced reliance on public assistance such as food stamps.

DHA's partnerships with local community colleges and private businesses get results for the Mississippi Delta. Thanks to our partnership with Burns Healthcare Institute, the Delta's healthcare industry has now added three new incredible CNAs to its workforce.

Through workforce development programs like the LEADS initiative, we help train workers in critical industries like healthcare, education, and manufacturing. DHA provides financial assistance for participants to receive training and connects them to jobs businesses need to fill.

DHA’s Promise Communities mean improved high school graduation rates!

Through DCPC, we provide academic support, including after-school tutoring, credit recovery programs, and individualized attendance plans for chronically absent students. These programs have had a measurable impact on student outcomes, contributing to the boost in grad rates.

Nationally, ACT composite scores have been declining for years. We're proud of the work DHA's CPI team does to improve Mississippi Delta students' chances of success in school and life, and we look forward to all the life achievements they'll get to celebrate.

DHA's College Promise Initiative (CPI) produces results for Delta students! ACT score data shows that composite scores are almost THREE POINTS higher among students that participate in DHA’s CPI than students in the same schools not enrolled in CPI.

Through our initiative in Leflore County high schools, students receive ACT tutoring, college planning assistance, academic counseling and mentoring, college tour opportunities, and other activities that promote a college-going culture.
