The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share. Our most sacred moments were private and they’ll stay there behind the stage, beneath the glamour & between our hearts.
What I KNOW is Dolly would want me to feel it, write a song about it, and then continue on and be strong. I have an angel by my side. I always have. One of our last conversations was about music and metamorphosis. 🦋
I will always love her and want to make her proud. My heart breaks for the world, her family and friends who will miss her deeply. We’re in this loss together and we will see her in all of the most beautiful things. 💖 @dollyparton
CANADA PULLED OFF THE UPSET 🇨🇦
Last night, Team Canada pulled off a massive shock win over South Korea in the #LLWS to advance to the quarterfinals of the international bracket where they will take on Japan! 👀
The last time Canada made it this far was in 2017 where they eventually lost in the international semifinals to Mexico.

Then explain this: your government just made American-owned Staples the exclusive vendor for every teacher's $750 classroom supply card, so not one of those dollars can go to a Canadian business. Buy Ontario means cancel the Staples deal. It's common sense.
Chapman's Ice Cream has just done something EVERY Canadian should know.
The largest ice cream company in Canada used to source fruit and nuts from American suppliers — for some, for over 30 years. Then, Trump imposed a 25% tariff on Canadian products.
So, what did Chapman's do?
 They called Italy.
📷 They called Spain.
📷 They signed multi-year contracts with European suppliers.
And the vice president said it perfectly:
"Even if Trump wakes up smarter than yesterday, we're about to sign long-term deals with other countries — and the American companies that supply them will have nothing but their eyes to cry for."
Oh, and on top of ALL that? They're COLDing their prices so that the average Canadian doesn't have to spend a single cent more.
It's a family business. No shareholders. Just the Chapman family saying: "The least we can do is make sure Canadians still have the means to buy ice cream."
That's what Canadian pride looks like.
Next time you're at the grocery store — grab some Chapman's.
Every scoop of ice cream is a vote for Canada.
Dolly Parton's family asked that, in lieu of flowers, fans make a donation to the singer's Imagination Library.
Here's what the charity does ⬇️

Here is the video where Donald Trump states he wants to use "Economic Force" to annex and acquire Canada.
JANUARY 7, 2025.
Before our election. Before Carney was running as PM.
If you're supporting and rooting for this foreign leader over your own country, you're a traitor.
Dear Europeans,
Canada has always stood with Europe. Now it’s our turn to stand with Canada.
Here is a list of Canadian products and brands you can buy to support our friends across the Atlantic. 🇪🇺🤝🇨🇦
I was lucky enough to know and work with the one and only Dolly Parton. She was a phenomenal guest on the show; always funny and always made everyone she met feel like a million dollars. We did duets together, laughed together and danced through Dollywood in the Smoky Mountains of Pigeon Forge. And even though we did all that, I would still get butterflies just being in her presence. And that’s kind of what I think of when I think of Dolly. She’s a butterfly. Beautiful. Magical. Dreamy. And like most butterflies, they stay for a moment - captivate you, fascinate you, mesmerize you and then fly away far too soon. I love you Dolly. I will always miss you.
Paul McCartney pays tribute to Dolly Parton:
"The magnificent star Dolly Parton has died and it is so sad. She was such a wonderful woman. I first met her in Nashville at the Grand Ole Opry where she had been playing with the country star Porter Wagoner and was about to start her solo career. She was so bubbly and full of life it is difficult to take in the news that she has passed. Her songwriting, her singing and her philanthropy were unrivaled in the world of country music and it is hard to imagine living in a world without Dolly. She was a very clever business woman who understood the value of her music and, most importantly, the effect that she had on the people of the world. There was no greater honour for me than to have her sing my song Let It Be and, even though I only made a small contribution to it, I am so honoured that she did it. I am so proud to have known her and admire her unique talents."
"Thanks Dolly for the beautiful music you gave me and the whole world. We will always love you, god bless and rest in peace. You were the best."

A big reason for the trade imbalance? We were buying oil at below market rates from Canada. We had a sweat heart deal. Take oil imports out of it and we had a trade surplus. This thing with Canada is moronic. And the people buying into Trump's bizarre misunderstanding of basic facts and economics are telling on themselves.
Time to buy some Canadian-imported products here at my local store in Nuuk, Greenland 🇬🇱 and support our neighbours in Canada. 🇨🇦🤝🇬🇱
As you can see, the store is even promoting its Canadian products.
Just a small gesture of support for our Canadian friends and neighbours. 🇨🇦
WCK founder @chefjoseandres received the "National Legend of Ukraine"—one of the country's highest state distinctions—from President @ZelenskyyUa. The recognition comes as WCK marks an extraordinary milestone: 300 million meals served in Ukraine since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022. The award recognizes individuals whose contributions have had a significant impact on Ukraine. José was honored for his longstanding commitment to the country and its people since Russia's full-scale invasion began. #ChefsForUkraine
« There is still time before these counter-tariffs take effect on September 8, and I am urging the federal government to use that time to get back to the negotiating table with the United States. »
This projects such a troubling level of passive dependence. By simply "urging" Ottawa to resume negotiations while demanding they exclude Alberta's oil as a bargaining chip, she effectively steps away from the front lines and outsources the province's economic defense. Albertans, I think, expect a leader who takes direct ownership of a crisis and initiates concrete protective measures. Relegating the province to the role of a spectator waiting for a federal rescue signals a severe lack of initiative precisely when strong, proactive governance is required. 🤷🏽♂️
70-year-old Ukrainian woman sentenced to 15 years in prison for money transfers to the Ukrainian armed forces – Russian media.
Russian sources claim that the resident of the occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region made 24 transfers to support the Ukrainian armed forces between January and November 2024 using a Ukrainian bank's mobile app (totaling around 33,000 hryvnias, approx. 633 euros).
The world would be a better place without Russia.
New: In a phone call with me after U.S.-Canada trade negotiations collapsed, President Trump suggested the US had added conditions late during talks.
“That sounds like me,” Trump responded, when asked about Canadian officials' assertion about US late-stage demands.
When I pressed, “So you don't deny it?”
The president replied, “No, no, I don't deny anything. So no, they have to pay a fair amount. And if they don't pay a fair amount, we won't make a deal. That's fine.“

🇨🇦 TARIFF PROOF: BUY CANADIAN 🇨🇦
Trump wants to tariff Canadian products? Fine.
Let’s make his tariffs work against him.
We don’t need to replace everything overnight. But we can start choosing Canadian whenever there is a Canadian option.

One important rule: Canadian brand does NOT automatically mean Canadian made. Check the label. Look for “Made in Canada” or “Product of Canada” when that’s what you’re trying to buy.
We don’t have to boycott everything American.
We just need to stop assuming American is the only option.
Every Canadian dollar we keep circulating through Canadian businesses supports Canadian workers, Canadian manufacturers and Canadian communities.
Trump wants a trade war?
Let’s show him how strong the Canadian market can be without depending on the United States for everything. 🇨🇦

It’s hard to imagine many people having a bigger impact than Dolly Parton. Born in a one-room cabin, she earned 11 Grammys and an Emmy, built a business empire, helped millions of kids learn to read, and — as if that wasn’t enough — helped accelerate the research that led to the Moderna COVID vaccine. What a life. Michelle and I are thinking of Dolly’s family and her many, many fans.
