Really enjoyed this interview! Loved talking to you about Post-Traumatic Parenting and how we can go from breaking cycles to making cycles in our parenting!
@vickyweberbooks Yes! And trying to write about parenting in July when small kids are home is a special form of psychological torture..... Although I do find Bluey weirdly inspirational. Or maybe aspirational.
I really enjoyed doing this interview! @MariannePestana is an incredible interviewer and I think this is one of the best conversations I've had about the book. I can't wait to hear what you think of this interview.

I spoke with @HenryChandonnet for @FastCompany about the pros, cons, & trauma-informed perspective.

They ARE creepy. And 🤑💸💸.
But what are kids trying to accomplish when they collect them?
How should we talk to our kids about them?
What's the hidden opportunity here?

5 years ago, I started this "I want to write a book and share the concepts of Post-Traumatic Parenting with the world." Went to book conferences and was told "You need a platform..." It was so scary to start, but glad I did!
It's finally here - This is my official book cover reveal!
The red heart on the cover is held together by a diaper pin—for a reason.
Because parenting while healing is exactly that: mending a wounded heart while showing up for someone else’s.
This book is from my heart to yours. 💔➝❤️🩹
Post-Traumatic Parenting can be a lonely journey. My hope is that this book becomes your companion—and helps turn every cycle breaker into a cycle maker.
So thrilled (and a little overwhelmed!) to finally share this cover—and this message—with the world. 📖✨

The feedback formula is incredibly effective and should be used more often to provide POSITIVE feedback to our kids. This is how we reinforce desired behaviors in a healthy and effective way.

With the scary stories that have been so present in the news lately- I thought this one would be a helpful reminder 💔😢
When you talk to your kids honestly, openly, and age-appropriately, you comfort your own inner child too ❤️🩹

PSA: Repeatedly shaming & blaming kids simply for doing things totally in line with their current developmental stage is a form of scapegoating & can warp their sense of self for years to come.
We need all 3 in different doses:
❤️🩹Self-care needs vary but you should make time for it at least weekly
❤️🩹Self-maintenance is needed daily & in many forms
❤️🩹Anesthesia may be needed for 15 minutes to transition from a stressful situation to a more restful and joyful one
