Thanks for this. I'll note that the best information we have is coming from an unofficial site not affiliated with Halifax Fire or any other agency responsible for informing the public.
So true. Not uncommon to see young people with vague complaints and end up finding undiagnosed asthma. In NS, a lack of insurance coverage for physicians to do PFT breathing tests in the office really bottlenecks the diagnosis further. https://t.co/yfP8NMz5Ry
Jon interviewed Leslie Rutledge, Arkansas Attorney General, about why her state banned gender-affirming care for minors - ignoring the guidelines of major medical organizations and taking the decision out of parents’ hands. Watch the full interview on @AppleTVPlus
The wood from the trees in the @HfxPublicGarden that will die because of this attack should be used in our public places.
In our libraries, hospitals, art gallery, museums, ferry terminals and of course the Public Gardens.
I find this graph is WILD considering the importance eGFR plays in deciding life-saving treatment eligibility/dosing. Maybe labs should report a confidence interval...? Recent paper by @DrTariqShafi https://t.co/tKS7N8uD1j
Practice changing HighLow study: Single daily low dose ante-partum LMWH in women with prior VTE (unprovoked, hormone related) is fine; post-partum dose question remains open (I will suggest intermediate dose in most outside of a trial (HighLow2))
As a Canadian: I won’t for one second think that what’s happening in the United States with #RoeVsWade can’t happen here…We must be vigilant. Take nothing for granted. Act like our basic human rights depend on it…Because they do.
@curlyhairMD It was also a really invaluable opportunity to see what “me in 1-2 years” was going to be like. Mentally prepared me for overnight call as a resident I think.
@curlyhairMD I learned a TON on my overnight call in MS and residency. I think I’d be a less good doctor without those experiences. As a MS it was a chance to have slightly increased responsibility for responding to emergencies (having a go “driving the plane”) but w/ no serious expectations.
I just couldn't put down "The Cult of We" by @eliotwb -- just a completely bananas story of mass delusion.
So... when can I expect the Adam McKay adaptation? @GhostPanther
Important paper showing that the ferritin level cut-off for women (15micrograms/L) recommended by the WHO is wrong. Based on US NHANES data they show that the physiologically important cut-off for women is 25 micrograms/L. https://t.co/hMqIb2q1si
