For a kid who barely made it into vet school it was quite the honor to receive CSU’s Distinguished Alumni Award.
I gave a talk to the student body & (hopefully) inspired them to remember the power of kindness & giving back during their careers. @ColoradoStateU@CSUVetHospital

Today we celebrate our Veterans. This was my most memorable experience with a Vet. To everyone who has served…Thank you.

No Vet should ever be homeless.

Bruce is just a big ole baby! 🐾 Dr. Kwane made a stop in Skid Row and made sure to follow-up with Bruce and his owner. Care doesn't stop at the first visit.
Also excited to share “What It Takes to Save a Life” is officially available in paperback! If you’ve ever believed in the power of compassion, this book is for you. Grab your copy and be reminded that one person can make a difference. 🐶✨

What is one of the most meaningful parts of being able to travel and speak across the nation? Meeting so many of you— do gooders, advocates, fellow pet lovers—at my book signings. The shared stories, the laughs, the hugs… it’s been unforgettable. Thank You! 💙
Don’t overthink it. You don’t need a perfect plan. Don’t tell yourself it won’t matter. Because it does matter.
You just need to start—with one act of kindness.Every person makes a difference. And the world needs more of you in it.
Dogs teach us about love and grief in the deepest way. Because to love a dog is to know one day you’ll have to say goodbye.
They love with their whole hearts—no hesitation, no conditions. Maybe grief is the price we pay for that kind of love. ❤️

I’ve heard a lot of incredible stories of how a dog or cat helped someone pull through some really hard times. It still puts a smile on my face.

After 27 years what is my least fav thing to do? Toenail trims (especially geriatric dogs with thick black nails) and anal glands - in that order. But for a puppy, anything. All they have to do is flash you a look and they own you. 🐶 #puppies
I’m happy to report he is in good health. He was scared and anxious, but after some treats and patience he warmed up.
So much gratitude to everyone doing their part. Remember, fostering or adopting is a wonderful way to help.
Meet Max 🐾 He had a viral moment when he was captured being consoled by a firefighter amongst the fires in LA. After being rescued, I was asked to come in & examine him (& a handful of other pets).
