I’m not sure who needs to hear this, but denying patients discharge paperwork and medications because they’re self discharging is cruel and harmful.
They might be acting against advice, but we should still make their discharge as safe as possible.
@itf I have an iMac which I would use for anything crazy - this is mainly for portability and work - emails, zoom calls, maybe podcast recording, canva/powerpoint and also a little bit of web based tabletop RPG (which is basic works fine on the old one) through roll20
I despair of how much of social media is dedicated to poor flying experiences, but honestly if David Gandy can’t get BA to treat his family like human beings what hope is there for the rest of us 🤷🏽♂️
Me: so @British_Airways you have oversold the flight. Seats allocated to us have disappeared and you think its ok for my 2 year old to be sat on her own next to a stranger? What if theres an emergency
BA: well nothing we can do so yes its ok
COME on BA you can do better than this
I understand the desire to know more information about someone who has died suddenly and shockingly, and I understand the race for media outlets to be the ones to get the clicks. But just maybe even for one day, could we prioritise a family who have lost a loved one?
Keep thinking about Cheryl Cole having to wake her little boy up this morning to tell him his Dad has died. Every single part of this is just awful. Is it too much to hope that the gutter press will leave this family alone to grieve. It is, isn’t it.
@ladychatterley@ChrisWillx They are potentially the greatest advancement in healthcare since antibiotics! Lots of nuance, but yes I think win win is a fair description 🙏🏼
I keep thinking about what @ChrisWillx said that about people being neggy about weight loss drugs like ozempic because they diminish the sense of achievement and superiority that comes from the discipline and willpower needed to be “in shape” because now everyone can do it.
@ladychatterley The best and most impressive thing about Emily In Paris is that in less than 2 weeks someone can ask you what the story arc of Emily in Paris was and you will remember nothing other than “Emily moved to Paris and much calamity ensued”.
I find it hard to recognise medical social media these days. Maybe I am getting old and out of sight of the zeitgeist but some of the stuff I see medics posting makes me cringe so much. And I don’t say this to criticise anyone - free speech innit -but I can still thing it’s icky.
I wish I could go back in time and reassure my teenage self that my lack of interest in Oasis - which made me somewhat uncool at the time - would one day (today) serve me and my stress/disappointment levels extremely well.
