Maybe the most romantic thing someone can give you isn't butterflies, it's certainty. Knowing a difficult conversation won't make them leave, their affection won't vanish with a bad mood, knowing you don't have to perform to be loved.
Imagine betraying a man when he tried to heal your wounds — with care and passion, patience and unconditional love, supporting you while staying grounded.
He expected only love, loyalty & commitment.
Turning against what should have healed you both.
What an irony.
@tutututuulip Imagine betraying a man when God sent him to heal your wounds — with care and passion, patience and unconditional love, supporting you while staying grounded.
He expected only love, loyalty & commitment.
Turning against the one sent to bring healing to you both.
What an irony.
Healthy relationships don’t require you to solve every conflict immediately. But they do require reassurance. A simple, “I need some time to calm down. We’ll talk tonight.” can protect your partner’s nervous system far more than complete silence. Space is healthy. Silent punishment isn’t. Conflict should never leave your partner questioning your love, it should leave them knowing the relationship is still safe.
I’m single, but it’s deeper than that. Someone messed up my idea of love so badly that I haven’t felt genuinely romantically interested in anyone since. It’s not that I don’t want love. I just don’t look at people the same anymore. It’s not the breakup that changes you. It’s what the relationship teaches you about love that makes you stop wanting it altogether.
If they are willing to lose you instead of choose you and fix the problem, they never really cared. Love stays when things get hard. Their refusal to try means you were never a priority. You were comfort, not commitment. This truth hurts, but it starts your freedom and healing.
If you can heal from a breakup without being in a rebound situationship or using another person to fill the void, you’re incredibly strong. Healing alone is one of the toughest things you'll ever face, but it's also one of the most transformative.
There's an old African proverb:
Every morning, a gazelle wakes up knowing it must run faster than the lion, or it will die.
Every morning, a lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter if you're the lion or the gazelle.
When the sun comes up, you'd better be running.
Life doesn't reward those who sit idle. Whether you're chasing a dream or fighting to survive, motion is non-negotiable.
Stop waiting for perfect conditions. Stop waiting for permission. The sun is up. Start running.
