When performing CPR on a child, begin with five rescue breaths before starting chest compressions.

This is important as a lack of oxygen is the most common cause of cardiac arrests in children.

While we were celebrating A level results last week, we had a celebration of our own.

Two of our responders passed their L3 course with @EMAS_CFR. They can now respond to paediatric patients, are trained to use our lifting chair, and can administer entonox and salbutamol.
