@HB911ok@yegwave Many had your sentiments before Brexit. Comments and attitudes like yours are a gift to the separatists cause. If more people like you publicly cheered on an almost manslaughter and tripled down on the insults instead of reflection, I’d be very worried.
@HB911ok@yegwave Think strategically. You cheering on an almost manslaughter helps their cause because you come across as a heartless asshole. People who disagree with separatists but love them individually will find the inevitable separatist PR persuasive.

@midnightoctave@SEllisHockey I think it’s also the increased pressure for you kids learning the position and game. Most ten year olds aren’t going to have fun when the parents are putting crazy pressure on the kids because they are living vicariously through their kids and spending a fortune. Goalie its X 2-5
@SEllisHockey It’s very clear that something has changed in the past decade plus when it comes to Canada producing goalies. My guess is the skyrocketing costs which are higher for goalies and the increased pressure at the pre age 14 level. Goalies will feel that more than any player.
@J_Swish24 More culture war hack insults. If you’re going to go out of your way to insult people at least be funny or insightful. You dislike pronouns actually explain why. Or be funny and creative. Using the pronoun thing as a cheap punchline is hack and just brings culture war bs to hockey
@J_TheCynic For sure. I listen to Lawton’s segments frequently. I do not have any concerns about Mike when he’s off the clock. Seems like a good family man and friend who is also involved charitable work.
@fraulings It’s a PR strategy for a reason. If he’s actually honest he gets endless criticism and there are negative ripple effects for years. We ask for honest candid answers but generally bury anyone who opens up that way.
@DanGrondy@MarkMaddenX You feel it’s constant because that is the only thing that shows up in your algorithm. The booing is wrong full stop but it’s not even close to every sporting event in Canada. The algorithm will feed you things that make you angry but none of the evidence that is contrary
@JuniorReyes17 I don’t think that’s the reason for the jersey choice and it’s getting tiresome to have culture war issues constantly being brought up in sports. Can we have something without politics or culture war being inserted?.
@FAmmiranteTFJ I used to feel this way but post 2025 politics it doesn’t feel good natured or fun anymore. Especially when fans are taking their governments talking points about sovereignty threats or allegations of fascism as a cudgel to insult opposing fans. It’s just feels ugly now.
@AzorcanGlobal I would love it but I think he needs a new environment and a fresh setting. I suspect being in Edmonton will remind him of past perceived failures.
@jasondemers5 I agree but strategically Imo his approach was largely the smart move. Any admission of specific wrongdoing just adds fuel to the fire and gives loose threads to pull on. Either way it will be Babs actions and behaviour going forward that will determine how he’s ultimately viewed
@MarkMaddenX I never said you were. The fans that booed and a few of the reporters were disrespectful. What I’m pushing back on is your previous tweets saying disrespectful things about the country writ large. You’re all gutless except for Sid , you have nothing except for hockey ect.
