Yesterday, H.E. the President launched EWENE at State House, marking an important national commitment to protect mothers and newborns. The work ahead is clear: strengthen delivery, improve accountability and ensure timely, respectful care for every mother and baby.
The Ministry of Health continues to work closely with regional and international public health partners to monitor the situation and strengthen preparedness across the country.
Please rely only on official information and avoid spreading unverified reports.
Kenya has not recorded any Ebola case.
However, following the outbreak reported in Eastern DRC, MOH has activated enhanced surveillance, screening and preparedness measures across the country. We urge the public to remain calm, vigilant and rely only on official information.
Symptoms of Ebola may include:
• Fever
• Severe weakness
• Headache and muscle pain
• Vomiting or diarrhoea
• Stomach pain
• Unexplained bleeding in severe cases
Seek immediate medical attention if experiencing symptoms, especially after travel to affected areas.
Led the National Planning Committee as we prepare for the EWENE launch, one of the most important health interventions for our country.
No woman should die while giving forth life. No family should lose hope in the delivery room.

@DrPatrickAmoth From modelling perspective, male involvement acts as a multiplier across the entire RMNCAH pathway. If male involvement increases, we can see more women attending clinics, better and faster decision making , reduced delays and fewer maternal deaths.
Join us this Tuesday (April 21st, 8–9 PM) on #AskTheDG X Space as we discuss “Men in Maternity.
