Faith is not strengthened by adding confidence in yourself, but by removing yourself as the basis of standing before God.
When self is taken out of the equation, only Christ remains.
And Christ does not change.
That is where faith rests.

Paul’s gospel is judicial and substitutionary.
“He who knew no sin became sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
Christ accomplished reconciliation objectively through the cross, but Paul still says: “Be reconciled to God.”

The Reformation was not mainly about inventing a “new Christianity.”

It was about recovering biblical Christianity after centuries of medieval superstition, corruption, and theological decline.

The issue is not Which church is oldest?
The issue is: “Which teachings are biblical

Standing in front of St. Peter’s Basilica today, I reflected on one of history’s great ironies:

When Luther visited Rome in 1510, this basilica was still being built. The indulgence campaigns used to help finance it would later help spark the Protestant Reformation.

If a man truly wants to do something, he will find a way. If no way exists, he will make one. But if he does not truly want to do it, he will make excuses.

A soldier doesn’t win by getting distracted.

Paul says don’t get entangled in the affairs of this life.
Peter says fix your hope on what’s coming.
Jesus says you can’t serve God and man.

We all read Scripture through a lens shaped by background. The task is not to deny that, but to discipline it. A key question: how would the original audience have understood the text? If your interpretation requires later categories they didn’t have, it deserves scrutiny.

Christ did not come to the world to intensify moral pressure, but to address a condition already described as condemned (John 3:18). The gospel is not “do better,” but divine help entering a fallen condition that cannot self-repair.

Faithfulness is rarely dramatic. It is built in quiet obedience, steady trust, and daily perseverance. What feels small and unnoticed is often the very work God is using to shape something enduring.

Where do you think the line is between healthy confidence and intellectual overreach in theology? At what point does someone actually become qualified to speak with authority?

We are saved by faith alone, but not by a faith that is alone.

Good works don’t save us.
But genuine faith always produces them.

Paul explains the root.
James explains the fruit.

Faith that saves is never by itself.

The early church didn’t struggle with whether Scripture was authoritative.

They struggled with whether they were willing to submit to it.

Most theological confusion doesn’t come from difficult passages it comes from clear passages we’d rather explain away.

Most people study church history to prove what they already believe.
That approach guarantees self-deception.
The real goal of church history is to discover when doctrines and practices actually appear in the historical record.

Truth does not grow old with time.
The passing of years can expose error, refine understanding, and clarify language, but truth itself does not age.

If a claim becomes false simply because centuries have passed, it was never truth to begin with.

When life feels like it’s falling apart, remember: the Author of your story is still writing.
Job lost everything and yet declared, “I know that my Redeemer lives.”
Faith trusts God even when we do not understand the trial.

Human life has a unique dignity in Christian theology because humanity alone was created in the image of God. The doctrine of the Imago Dei explains why every person possesses inherent worth and moral accountability.
