I was there with Rep. Khanna as an expert on settler violence.
Armed settlers were the first to arrive, and then, as has become the norm, Israeli soldiers joined them. Together they detained the delegation for over an hour
The IDF is lying and not for the first time.
More & more managers are becoming disengaged at work because they’re burning out without the support they need.

Israeli soldiers are reportedly torturing Dr Abu Safya --a pediatrician, for God's sake!
Without strong pressure on Israel, these may could be his last hours.
@ICRCPresident@DrTedros
Security camera video appears to show an Israeli soldier throwing a stun grenade into a car carrying young Palestinians during a raid on Qalandiya refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, before appearing to force the door shut as it detonated.
Dr. Husam Abu Safiya is a most selfless, dedicated & humanitarian physician who repeatedly risked his life to save his patients in Gaza. That’s why Israel abducted him & is holding him without evidence, charges or due process while subjecting him to severe torture. His life is in danger. He must be released now.
They arrested an 84-year-old reverend, while she’s standing on a podium that says “I oppose genocide.”
What a shameful thing to explain to future generations.
A letter to Yvette Cooper, signed by 71 cross-party MPs and peers, says the "systematic and well-documented torture of Palestinian civilians lies with the government of Israel, including Prime Minister Netanyahu" @SkyNews
I raised the case of the imprisoned Palestinian doctor, Dr. Hussain Abu Safiya, in Parliament this week. We now hear from Physicians for Human Rights Israel his life is in imminent danger. Have contacted UK minister to call for urgent intervention by the government.
🚨URGENT: Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya’s life is in immediate danger, Physicians for Human Rights Israel and his lawyer warned Saturday, after a prison visit revealed the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital bearing fresh, severe injuries to his head, eyes, ears, and neck, so disfigured his own attorney initially struggled to recognize him.
🔹Attorney Nasser Odeh, who saw Abu Safiya Thursday at the underground Rakefet interrogation facility in Nitzan Prison, said he arrived shackled hand and foot, escorted by masked guards, struggling to breathe and speak, unable to sit upright, and repeatedly on the verge of losing consciousness.
🔹Abu Safiya told him that after his Supreme Court appeal was heard June 10, four or five guards entered his solitary cell at Ganot Prison and beat him with a hammer and batons, and that since his June 24 transfer to Rakefet he has been beaten daily, losing consciousness several times without receiving medical treatment.
🔹“This is the last time you will see me,” he told his lawyer. “They brought me here to kill me. I don’t see myself surviving. This is the end.”
🔹PHRI notes the escalation in torture began directly after Abu Safiya challenged his detention in court. He has been held without charge since December 27, 2024, under Israel’s Unlawful Combatants Law.
🔹The group has appealed to Israel’s attorney general and prison service demanding his immediate transfer, an independent medical examination, and an urgent judicial visit “before it is too late.”

“They brought me here to kill me. I don't see myself surviving. This is the end.”
These are the words of Dr Hussam Abu Safiya, the paediatrician who ran Gaza's last children's hospital. He has been held without charge by Israel for over 18 months, alongside at least 13 other Palestinian doctors from Gaza.
His lawyers say he has been held in solitary confinement, beaten, starved, and denied medical care. He is now in life-threatening danger and requires urgent hospitalisation.
Silence is complicity. @YvetteCooperMP must demand his immediate release and urgent medical treatment NOW.
I am gravely concerned by reports of a severe deterioration in the condition of Dr. Abu Safiyah.
We reiterate our demands for his release, along with all other doctors being held without charge.
Hi @skiddle you’ve seriously overcharged me for an upcoming event and I can’t find a way to actually contact you. Every option in the app will not let me contact you! I need to speak to someone to fix this. Please help me sort this out.
A piece of sewer pipe found in the street has been acting as a prosthetic leg for 10-year-old Rateb since he lost the limb in an Israeli strike.
Rateb, a 10-year-old from Gaza, lost his leg, his mother and his brother during Israeli bombardment.
Mamdani: There is a term so often used to describe our nation and those who have shaped it: American exceptionalism.
American exceptionalism, the conventional wisdom tells us, makes our freedom a little more free, is how we dug the Erie Canal and irrigated the West, is why children in far away lands grow up dreaming of one day moving here.
And yet the irony is that the story of America has so often been written by those who were told by others with power and influence and wealth that they were anything but exceptional.
For generation after generation, we have been told that when the world has sent its people to our shores, it has not sent its best. It sent Puritans and Sikhs and Quakers and Muslims and Jewish people who were banished for praying the wrong way, worshipping the wrong Gods, angering the wrong people. It sent peasants and serfs from who were treated as less because they hardly owned clothes, let alone land. It sent immigrants for whom power was something someone else had.
We are told that America is exceptional because we are richer, stronger, more powerful than everyone else.
The truth, my friends, is that America is exceptional because here, nothing is fixed into place. The frontier may be closed, we may have walked on the moon, but the work of fulfilling the values first enshrined in the Declaration of Independence-that work endures, my friends, and it belongs to us all.
It belongs too to our newest Americans, those standing here with me today, all of whom were recently naturalized. Nearly a decade ago, I too felt what you feel— the joy of no longer being just a New Yorker, but an American too.
