I'm not really good at this Threads thing, so I don't know if I'm doing this right. A lot of people use Grok to get information quickly, so if it's there as a reply, maybe the AI will help people who care learn something.

Romans 1:28–32 (King James Version, public domain) reads: "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them." The post applies this to the unfollow reply ("Seems you follow a religion. Oh well, you had my interest for a week"), framing the withdrawal of interest once Christ is named as a refusal to acknowledge God.

The Peter reference is Matthew 14:28–31 (KJV): Peter walks on the water toward Jesus, then "when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?" The "shake the dust" line echoes Jesus' instruction to the disciples in Matthew 10:14 (KJV): "And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet." Nunc Dimittis is Simeon's prayer in Luke 2:29–32 (KJV): "Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel."

Blake Skolnick, raised in a Brooklyn household with Orthodox and Hasidic relatives (kosher home, Hebrew school, bar mitzvah), later described drifting into agnosticism after his father rejected faith over unexplained suffering. In interviews on the Lutheran podcast "On The Line" (January 19, 2026, episode with Bryan Stecker) and related appearances, he says modern rabbinic Judaism (post-Second Temple, shaped by the Mishnah and Talmud) lacks a doctrine of original sin comparable to the Christian view, leaving the brokenness of the world and human nature unexplained and emphasizing ethnic identity plus the 613 commandments. He recounts testing claims against Second Temple sources, messianic texts (such as Isaiah 53 and Daniel), and the New Testament; the Lutheran distinction of Law and Gospel, plus inherited sin and Christ's imputed righteousness, resolved the questions for him in a way Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy did not. He became a confessional Lutheran (member of Grace Lutheran Church in Milwaukee) and has discussed family and colleague pushback framed as betrayal. Full interviews are available on the On the Line YouTube channel and related podcasts.

@SoveyX Peter was fine until he looked at the storm. You kept your eyes on Jesus.

Romans 1:28–32 epitomizes that reply: a mind that will not acknowledge God. A week of interest, withdrawn the moment Christ is named. Shake the dust from your sandals at such virtual doorsteps!

Yet hope and truth abound. I found this account of someone who sought truth in faith. Blake Skolnick, raised an Orthodox Jew, came to Christ by testing claims against the faith in various Jewish traditions. Nunc Dimittis says Jesus Christ is the glory of God’s people Israel—and how ignorant most of us Christians are of our faith and history. Christians are hated by all who are anti-Christ. ✝️🇺🇸🥋🙏🏽

[Sovey @SoveyX]

This is part of why I posted this today.

I've gained a lot of new followers recently, and I want to stay true to myself and be upfront about who I am.

I never criticized him for his lack of faith, but he felt the need to let me know I'm no longer important to him because of Jesus.

Which one of us is weaponizing religion?

Anyway, if you're an atheist, we can still be friends. But I'm not going to hide my faith to be more palatable on social media.

Christian is the first word in my bio for a reason. It always has been, and it always will be.
