A wonderful @BAPM_Official conference in Cardiff over the past two days. The NeoTRIPs team had a wonderful time presenting the results of our recent survey exploring the resident doctor experiences of taking part in our work.
NEWS: The Neonatal Care (Leave and Pay) Act will officially take effect on April 6! 🎉 Thanks to the tireless efforts of our team here at Bliss, parents with babies born sick or premature will now have the right to take up to 12 weeks leave while their little ones receive hospital care. This vital new legislation ensures that families can focus on what matters most without the stress of returning to work too soon. Learn more about this important milestone and what it means for families here ⬇️

This is Oscar who was born at 26weeks gestation. He had a bumpy road in NICU full of worry, stress and parent-guilt for siblings at home. When he came home at ‘term’ the anxiety came in the form of SATS monitors pinging and oxygen requirements. Four years on he now goes to school and is thriving! It is hard to relate to this healthy boy as the baby in this video. If only we had known this to be the case at the time- how much easier it would have been!
How lucky we were to live in a developed country with the NHS during his stay. It hits hard to think of parents in the same situation but in war torn or deprived areas. Oscar as a result inspired the creation of Pickle and Tot which creates gifts for parents with children in hospital- essential and luxury items designed to provide comfort at a difficult time. Importantly 50% of profits go to children’s charities worldwide to share the love (this months charity is ‘Save the Children’.
Could you help us deliver national research and QI projects? 📣📣 We’re looking for paediatrics trainees from the Midlands, Yorks and London to act as regional leads!
A huge congratulations to @DrTilakM who has just finished the NIHR Associate PI Scheme🥳

Civility save lives.
Dr Catherine Stretton wonderfully discusses the data behind this statement.
Rude comments, even those that are considered minor, reduce performance in the person receiving them.
The person making the comments also perform less well…
