Im curious if other Dolphin fans feel the same. I'd hate to see a young talented player like Waddle waste the best years of their career trying to help rebuild a team. Am I alone?
If Waddle wants to stay in Miami I know every fan would want him here. But I'd be lying if i didnt admit that there's a part of me that wants to see him go out and have a chance at a SB over spending his best years stuck in rebuild hell.
He's entering the final year of his contract though. I can't imagine he gets us anything better than a 4th at best. I guess its better than cutting him. But I feel like this team needs SOME veteran presence. As long as he's willing to "play ball" with the current staff I think he's worth keeping. He can choose to leave when his contract is up next year.
For this, I dont blame Grier or McD. For everything else. Absolutely. When you're job is on the line, you're not thinking about what's in he best interest of the organization long term. Thats where Ross is supposed to step in and act like an owner who actually cares about his franchise.
@Buddy_FoxxV@JT_Evans97 Who's to say you have to take a guy this year? Remeber how Grier turned Laremy Tunsil into a treasure trove of picks an players?
I think the only downside potentially (which would also be the upside ironically) is what if he becomes the guy? How do you build a roster around him? He's going to want BIG money. The benefit of drafting your guy is you've got a few years to build a team around them before they get their big deal. You don't exactly have the same luxury here.
10th overall feels like the ceiling. I think more likely you're looking at a top 20 pick OR late 1st and a 2nd or 3rd round. Waddle has never been the number 1 option and when he's been asked to we've seen mixed results. I will say though, I believe his contract would be very appealing. His 2026 number is very low and he isn't really owed much until 2027. That could be appealing to allot of teams who are making a SB push this year.
Jokes aside, There's at least 4-6 guys that could be available on day 2.

Also not sure what teams are going to think of Jermod McCoy. Most folks have him going in the first but I could see teams passing him for safer options.
