Eva Mireles and Irma Garcia....the two teachers who lost their lives while trying to save the lives of their students at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, TX. I salute them both this morning. They are true American heroes whose names should be remembered throughout history.
A Day with Dudes @TomLeaES was inspiring and rewarding to see. Thank you #BraveBull male role models for your participation and continued support. Our student ambassadors rock BTW! @mcasillas21@ELPASO_ISD
Take care of each other. Many suffer in silence and are afraid or ashamed to ask for help.
IT’S OK TO NOT BE OK- PLEASE ASK FOR HELP❤️ #WorldMentalHealthDay
Thank you so much @McDonalds for recognizing us! I chose the Egg McMuffin…and that with the hash brown & coffee was the perfect way to start my day 🙌🏼 This will be a great week.
Yesterday I lead Conversation Cafe with @PattyBenitez11 and @scottgray77 for over 100 fantastic @ELPASO_ISD educators. We discussed scaffolding and how it can lead to deeper Project Based Learning.
“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning… But for children, play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.” ✨ -Fred Rogers #NoviTogether#dfhappyclassrooms
Maslow's Hierarchy isn't just for children. We grow up still needing to belong, friendships, sense of accomplishment, praise, respect of others, etc. Leaders, make sure these needs of your staff are being met, or they will find somewhere to have them met.
I remember receiving an email from a parent. She wanted to brag on one of our folks. She wrote: “Every time I talk to your teacher, I feel better about my daughter’s future.”
Think about that.
Educators don’t just make a difference for kids; they matter to parents too!
