Our teacher ambassador group is one of three new ambassador groups launched this year to strengthen collaboration, communication, and shared problem-solving across Volusia County Schools.

These educators get together to share ideas, provide feedback, and find solutions that make a real difference in our classrooms and across the district daily.

When asked what they love most about their work, their answers came from the heart. Every comment reflected a deep care for students, a passion for learning, and a commitment to building relationships that make a lasting impact.

Because it doesn’t just take a village—it takes the right people in that village. 💙

We’re excited to share the latest in our journey to ensure every student in Volusia County 𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑎𝑔𝑒𝑠 𝑖𝑛 ℎ𝑖𝑔ℎ 𝑙𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑙𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑑𝑎𝑦. Thanks to the dedication of our educators, staff, families, and community partners, we’re making big strides toward our district’s goals.🎓𝑆𝑡𝑢𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑆𝑢𝑐𝑐𝑒𝑠𝑠 𝑖𝑠 𝑅𝑖𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑔!

𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
▪️ 𝑂𝑢𝑟 𝑑𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑐𝑡 𝑔𝑟𝑎𝑑𝑒 ℎ𝑎𝑠 𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑒𝑛 from 57% (B) to 64% (A)—on track for our 2027 goal of 68% (A)!

▪️𝐺𝑟𝑎𝑑𝑢𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑠 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑠𝑜𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑑 from 88.9% to 93.7%, moving toward our 95% target.

▪️ College & career readiness is up 73% over the last three years! With 100% 𝑜𝑓 𝑐𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑒𝑟 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑡𝑒𝑐ℎ𝑛𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑙 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑔𝑟𝑎𝑚𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑎𝑐𝑎𝑑𝑒𝑚𝑖𝑒𝑠 offering at least one industry certification, 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑠𝑡𝑢𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑛 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑎𝑙𝑠 𝑏𝑒𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑔𝑟𝑎𝑑𝑢𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛.

It was an exciting morning at Ormond Beach Middle School as the Ormond Chamber Leadership Class 21 joined the @@FUTURES_Inc, School Board Chair Jamie Haynes, and @VCSCTE to celebrate and tour the school’s new Agricultural program.

The Leadership Class selected the program as one of their community service projects, and FUTURES supported their efforts through the School District Education Foundation Matching Grant—providing dollar-for-dollar matches for private donations based on specific criteria.

We’re also thrilled to share that OBMS’s FFA Chapter Charter Application has been approved! This program will give students hands-on learning in agriculture, sustainability, and environmental science, building skills that will serve them for years to come.
