@ShamsCharania If Denver were now to add LeBron, I'd be very excited about their offseason.
Bagley isn't the headline move, but as a low risk, one year gamble, I think it's a sensible addition
@itdooonotmatta@BennettDurando@NBABlackburn@denverpost Jokic will never be an elite rim protector, and that's fair criticism. But team defense is five players. He already has a ring and multiple deep playoff runs because he's good enough defensively when surrounded by the right personnel.
@chamberlin_34 If this is true, Denver should be first in line. LeBron wouldn't have to carry the offense, and Jokić has never had another basketball mind like his beside him. That's a scary combination.
@chamberlin_34 Not to worry ATM I give that a 15% chance of happening. However If LeBron were willing to prioritize winning over salary, I think Denver would become a much more realistic destination.
@ericzb13@BennettDurando@NBABlackburn@denverpost That's the beauty of sport. We all watch the same game but interpret it differently. Different opinions are what make being a fan enjoyable. If we all thought the same, we'd just be robots.
@Greenmonster254@BennettDurando@NBABlackburn@denverpost Bringing up help defense changes the debate. Stick to offensive IQ.
If LeBron is unquestionably above Jokic offensively, what does he do offensively from a mental standpoint that Jokic can't?
I can point to several things Jokic does that almost nobody else can.
@lockdownron@BennettDurando@NBABlackburn@denverpost LeBron often uses his IQ to exploit his own physical gifts. For 20 years, defenders had to respect.
his speed,
his power,
his ability to get downhill.
That created reads and passing lanes.
Jokić has almost none of those physical advantages. Only very high intellect
@goated_jus@BennettDurando@NBABlackburn@denverpost LeBron is arguably the greatest transition playmaker ever. He diagnoses defenses at an incredible level.
Jokic does something I've never seen another player consistently do. He doesn't just read the defense. He manipulates all 10 players on the floor.
@mambaforev3r@BennettDurando@NBABlackburn@denverpost My lineup would be:
PG: Jamal Murray
SG: Christian Braun
SF: LeBron James
PF: Aaron Gordon
C: Nikola Jokic
That would immediately become one of the smartest basketball teams ever assembled.
@Jeffing500@DLineCo Exactly. That's a front office problem, not just a Jamal problem. The bigger issue wasn't Jamal it was roster construction. But it's also fair to say that when you're on a max contract and the second star, you're going to be judged on playoff performances too.
