A solo builder just showed Claude Duet running a full memory scan while the laptop stayed shut.

1.4M+ notes read. One threat isolated. Nothing deleted without the ask.

What the scan shows:
- Disk platter live: 12 parallel readers, 48,210 checks, throughput 2.4 GB/s read
- Suspicious fragment caught: offset 0x7F3A00, 4,096 B, entropy 7.91, UPX-packed
- setup_v2.exe flagged · hex dump shown · quarantine sealed 12/12 blocks read-only
- report.json written with verdict: isolate
- Final: 1,284,551 files scanned · 1 threat isolated · system clean

Most agents either ignore the disk or start deleting the second they see high entropy. This one reads, hashes, isolates, and writes the report. The block stays sealed until you say yes.

That’s the exact shape from the Duet announcement: it comes to you with what needs attention, keeps working when you step away, and checks before it acts.

Anthropic’s version is still a research preview. The same loop (read → detect → quarantine → ask) is one folder of text files and four rules in Claude Code tonight.

The proactive agent doesn’t just draft emails.
It watches the disk.
