WEB SCRAPING JUST GOT A SERIOUS UPGRADE.
PixelRAG doesn't read HTML. It reads the page exactly like you do.
100% open-source.
Instead of parsing websites into plain text, it captures screenshots and lets a vision model retrieve answers directly from the pixels.
Why that's a big deal:
• HTML parsers silently lose information.
• Tables, charts, formulas, and layouts often disappear.
• Even changing the parser can swing RAG accuracy by ~10%.
PixelRAG skips that entire bottleneck.
It indexes what users actually see.
The team built a visual index of 30M+ Wikipedia screenshots, and it outperformed the strongest text-based RAG baseline by 18.1% on text-only QA.
Even cooler:
It includes a Claude Code plugin that gives Claude visual browsing.
Instead of scraping the DOM, Claude can screenshot any webpage, PDF, arXiv paper, or even your local app—and answer based on the rendered page.
The pipeline is surprisingly clean:
→ Render pages into image tiles
→ Embed with Qwen3-VL-Embedding (LoRA-tuned on screenshots)
→ Store in a FAISS index
→ Search visually
The best part?
Upgrade to a better vision model later, and you don't need to rebuild the index.
Because the index stores pixels, not parsed text.
Fully open-source under Apache 2.0.

In 2024, Nintendo declared war on emulators.
March 4. Yuzu paid Nintendo $2.4 million, deleted its code, and handed over its domain.
October 1. Ryujinx got a phone call. The GitHub organization vanished overnight.
May 2024. Nintendo filed 8,535 DMCA takedowns to scrub Yuzu code from every fork.
By 2026, Nintendo has collected $6 million in emulator settlements.
Every major Switch emulator is dead.
But Nintendo has a problem. His name is Zurdi.
In March 2023, one year before the war started, he quietly built RomM.
RomM is not an emulator. It's a ROM manager. It scans your legally-dumped game files, pulls metadata from IGDB, MobyGames, and Screenscraper, fetches box art from SteamGridDB, and pulls your achievements from RetroAchievements.
Then it lets you play in your browser through EmulatorJS.
Nintendo's own top IP lawyer admitted on the record in January 2025 that this is legal. Emulators only become illegal when they bypass encryption. RomM doesn't. It just organizes what you already own.
9,114 stars. AGPL-3.0. 400+ platforms supported. NES, SNES, N64, Game Boy, GameCube, PS1, PS2, Dreamcast, Genesis, Atari, DOS, arcade, Flash games through Ruffle.
Official apps for Playnite on Windows. Argosy launcher on Android. Grout for muOS handhelds and the Anbernic devices. Sync plugins for RetroArch, Steam Deck, and Syncthing.
Multi-disk games. DLCs. ROM hacks. Patches. Manuals. Tag filtering. Share your library with friends with permission levels.
Made the front page of Hacker News.
Sony deleted 2,000 PS3, Vita, and PSP games from its store. Nintendo took down every Switch emulator in two years. Your digital library was never yours.
Two guys in a Discord server built the museum they can't take back.

PowerShell – Mayhem Edition
If your organization allows unrestricted PowerShell usage, there are certain things hackers can do with just a Powershell window.
They can remove Windows licenses, disable USB and kill interfaces or even corrupt the MBR so the computer won't boot.
To raise awareness among blue teams, we put together this article showing just how dangerous unrestricted Powershell can be. To reduce the risk, enforce Powershell restrictions and monitor its activity.

The price of a 0-day just hit zero. Literally. It's on GitHub 🫠
The interesting part is not the chaos. It is the price signal.
High value working exploits used to be a seven-figure asset. Brokers, escrow, quality assurance, a whole market built on the assumption that finding a 0-day was hard, rare, and expensive. That cost of discovery was the real defense.
Now someone is dropping them on GitHub for free, and not even keeping the CVE credit. The marginal value of a vulnerability collapsing toward zero. When finding the next one is cheap, no single exploit is worth hoarding, monetizing, or coordinating. You just burn it.
This looks like noise, and it is one of the clearest market signals we have that the economics of security have flipped. The asymmetry that protected "secure enough" systems for decades was never the patch. It was the cost of finding the flaw. AI is removing that cost. This account didn't create that reality. It made it visible.
It's simply a "Coordinated disclosure minus the coordination"... The uncomfortable version: when supply is effectively infinite, coordination stops being worth anyone's time.
There is no safety in being uninteresting anymore. The only real exit is cryptographic: provable execution, hardware-rooted trust, validity proofs. Things that make an attack impossible rather than merely uneconomical, because "uneconomical" is exactly the property we just lost.
Stay safe. Stay honest about your trust assumptions.
