Danielle Smith and the UCP are making this long weekend the most expensive long weekend ever!
Putting gas in the tank and food in the cooler has become much more expensive over the last few years. Albertans deserve a government focused on lowering costs and making life more affordable.
That's why we launched the Alberta Affordability Agenda. Visit https://t.co/l6z27iwGqM to learn more!
Danielle Smith and the UCP aren't doing anything to help with affordability. This is shaping up to be the most expensive long weekend ever for Albertans.
The Alberta NDP has a plan to fix that.

People won't be able to pay their rent, buy groceries, or pick up prescriptions because of the ineptness of this government. The AISH to ADAP transition is cruel, and this is just another example of this government's ineptness and incompetence.
AISH has been around for nearly 50 years. Yes, it needs improvement, but this government is not going about it the right way. ADAP is a disaster. It was built on the back of a napkin, and people are being harmed.
Once again, the UCP rushes to push through changes with no thought for the impact.
“We’ve got people that will not be able to pay their rent, that will get eviction notices, that can’t buy food, that can’t pick up medication where they have copay. This is a big problem.” #ableg
Many Alberta residents who rely on Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) still haven’t received a payment for August after the province confirmed there were technical issues on Tuesday. #yeg#ab#abpoli https://t.co/sWjvnoRX4n
Hearts are broken across Alberta with the tragic news.
Thank you to all of you who put so much of yourselves into the search. The community response was incredible.
Thank you to all the first responders as well, including Search and Rescue, the Calgary Fire Department, and the incredible women and men of the Calgary Police Service. I am deeply grateful to you all and for this community.
I know that we will all surround Parker’s family and loved ones with our love and support and share in their indescribable grief.

Albertans deserve a say. While the UCP ignores public consultations and pushes ahead with AI data centres, the Alberta NDP is launching a listening tour. Join the conversation this Tuesday, August 4th at Red Willow Place in St. Albert!
Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Medicine Hat with @RobMiyashiro1 and meet with so many passionate community members and the dedicated Medicine Hat City Council!
Danielle Smith's newest health care announcement will only drive wait times higher and force more people to live in pain and suffering while they wait for the care they need.
Sharif Haji, a health critic for the Alberta NDP, said in a statement that the new rules are evidence that Ms. Smith’s government has “given up on fixing public health care.”
“Today’s announcement guarantees faster access to diagnostic tests for those who can afford to pay thousands of dollars for some tests, while everyone else is left waiting even longer,” Mr. Haji said.

Some separatists claim that if you oppose Danielle Smith's referendum, you're against democracy.
I disagree.
I oppose her referendum because I love democracy & I'm tired of watching the UCP twist & tear it down.
I took a moment to explain. #ableg
“It’s like adding another grocery line”
You would think an economist would know that adding another pathway when workforces and resources are finite only draws away from the existing pool of workforce and resources…
But you would be wrong.

Danielle Smith will go to the wall to support Alberta separatists, but not to support your access to healthcare.
You deserve a government that puts your interest first.
An Alberta NDP government will. #ableg

Any thunderstorm capable of producing tornadoes will be accompanied by hail up to the size of baseballs and torrential rain.

We can't keep scapegoating.
The reality is: our health care issues are the direct result of policy priorities! During this time period, Alberta's government has funnelled record public dollars into private profits while evidence is ignored and patient care neglected.
From the article:
“Based on the 149 RCMP jurisdictions in Alberta, the report shows a 10.4% decrease in the CSI from 2024 to last year.
“This progress is a testament to the efforts of Alberta RCMP officers, policing partners, community organizations, & the residents we serve.””
Respectfully, Premier, let’s give credit where it’s due.
This progress is due to the hard work of the men & women of the Alberta RCMP.
The same officers you’ve spent millions of tax dollars to denigrate & replace, against the wishes of the majority of Albertans. #ableg
Alberta’s crime rate has fallen to its lowest level in 10 years because we chose action over excuses.
We backed our police, strengthened public safety, and focused on protecting law abiding Albertans.
We’re not finished yet.

Many Albertans are frustrated with the rollout of the new ID cards. The government was trying to solve a problem that didn't exist, and all it's really done is create havoc. The question is: why is the UCP making life more difficult for Albertans?
I was honoured to welcome the Aga Khan on his first visit to Alberta. I am proud to be an Ismaili Muslim, and deeply grateful for the incredible community we have here in Canada.
Rob is downright offended we’re consulting Albertans before making decisions.
Of course he is. The UCP and their “concierge service” only take orders from the Mar-a-Lago crowd. #ableg#cdnpoli
Before Danielle Smith repeatedly changed the rules to help the separatists, they would have needed roughly 600,000 signatures to force a vote.
The separatists didn't even come close to that number and nearly 80,000 signatures were tossed by Elections Alberta.
This is 100% Danielle Smith's separation referendum. She is the one caving to her far-right base. She is the one who is willing to tear Canada apart for her political gain.
