“You are a madman” - that’s what the skeptics in Delhi said when we hosted the first edition of Semicon India. They confidently declared that India was never going to be a semiconductor nation.

Five years later, the reality under PM @narendramodi ji is very different.

Nothing reminds you that you’re back in India faster than landing at an Indian airport.

I started from Eindhoven at 7 AM, flew out of Amsterdam at 11:45 AM, landed in Mumbai at 12:20 PM, and after an almost 18 hour journey, I thought immigration would be the easiest part.

Instead, every Indian passenger was asked to fill a Self Declaration Form through an online link before immigration.

Name. Flight number. Country you came from. Address in India. Whether you travelled through an African country.

Seriously… why?

The Immigration Bureau already has my passport details, visa history, flight details, airline passenger data, and can see my boarding pass. Why are Indian citizens entering the same information again?

Now imagine senior citizens, families with children, and exhausted passengers after a long international journey trying to open a link, fill a form on their phone, and stand in the immigration queue at the same time.

I honestly felt like a foreigner entering my own country.

My humble request to the government and airport authorities: stop making Indian travellers fill duplicate forms. Use the information you already have and make immigration faster and simpler for Indian citizens.

ഒരു ലക്ഷത്തിലധികം ഫോളോവേഴ്‌സും വർഷങ്ങളുടെ പൊതുസംവാദ ചരിത്രവുമുള്ള എന്റെ ഫേസ്ബുക്ക് അക്കൗണ്ട് സസ്‌പെൻഡ് ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു. അതിനുമുമ്പ്, ഏതാനും മാസങ്ങളായി നിയമപരമായ കാരണങ്ങൾ ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി നിരവധി പോസ്റ്റുകൾ ആവർത്തിച്ച് നീക്കം ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. രാഷ്ട്രീയ വിമർശനവും മതവിമർശനവും ആക്ഷേപഹാസ്യവും ഉൾപ്പെട്ട പോസ്റ്റുകളായിരുന്നു അവ. ഇതൊരു വലിയ സത്യത്തെ ആണ് ഉ���ർത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്.

തുടക്കത്തിൽത്തന്നെ ഒരു കാര്യം വ്യക്തമാക്കാം. പോസ്റ്റുകൾ നീക്കിയതിന്റെ അറിയിപ്പുകളും അക്കൗണ്ട് സസ്‌പെൻഷനും ഫേസ്ബുക്ക് എന്തു ചെയ്തു എന്നതിന് തെളിവാണ്. അതിനുപിന്നിൽ സർക്കാർ ആണെന്നും അതിൽ പറയുന്നു.

അപ്പോൾ ചോദ്യം ഇതാണ്:
എന്റെ ഏതൊക്കെ പോസ്റ്റുകൾക്കെതിരെയാണ് നിയമപരമായ പരാതികളോ നീക്കം ചെയ്യാനുള്ള ആവശ്യങ്ങളോ ലഭിച്ചത്?
ആരാണ് അവ നൽകിയത്?
ഏതെങ്കിലും സർക്കാർ വകുപ്പിനോ പോലീസ് അധികാരിക്കോ മറ്റേതെങ്കിലും ഏജൻസിക്കോ പങ്കുണ്ടായിരുന്നോ?
ഇന്ത്യൻ നിയമത്തിലെ ഏതൊക്കെ വകുപ്പുകളാണ് ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടിയത്?
മെറ്റ നടപടിയെടുത്തത് നിയമപരമായ ആവശ്യത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലാണോ, സ്വന്തം പ്ലാറ്റ്‌ഫോം ചട്ടങ്ങളുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലാണോ, അതോ രണ്ടും പരിഗണിച്ചാണോ?
പോസ്റ്റുകൾ നീക്കിയ നടപടികൾ പിന്നീട് അക്കൗണ്ട് സസ്‌പെൻഡ് ചെയ്യാനുള്ള കാരണമായി കണക്കാക്കിയോ?

ഈ ചോദ്യങ്ങൾക്ക് പ്രസക്തിയുണ്ട്.
കാരണം ഞാൻ ജിഹാദിസത്തെ പരസ്യ��ായി ചോദ്യം ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.
വിസ്ഡം മുജാഹിദിനെയും ജമാഅത്തെ ഇസ്‌ലാമിയെയും വിമർശിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇസ്‌ലാമിസ്റ്റ് സംഘടനകളുമായി രാഷ്ട്രീയ ഒത്തുതീർപ്പുകൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നതിനെ എതിർത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. അതൊന്നും എന്റെ വാക്കുകളെ വിമർശനത്തിനും പരിശോധനയ്ക്കും അതീതമാക്കുന്നില്ല. അതുപോലെ, എന്റെ വിമർശനം സ്വാധീനമുള്ള സംഘടനകൾക്ക് സഹിക്കാനാകുമോ എന്നതിനെ ആശ്രയിച്ചാകരുത് എനിക്ക് സംസാരിക്കാനുള്ള ��വകാശം.
ആണെങ്കിൽ അത് ഫാഷിസമാണ്.

വിയോജിപ്പിനെതിരെ ആരാണ് നടപടിയെടുത്തത്, ഏത് അധികാരത്തിലാണ് അത് ചെയ്തത്, എന്തായിരുന്നു അതിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനം എന്നൊന്നും വിശദീകരിക്കാൻ ആരും തയ്യാറല്ലെങ്കിൽ, വിയോജിക്കാനുള്ള സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിന് ജനാധിപത്യത്തിൽ എന്ത് സംരക്ഷണമാണുള്ളത്? അല്ലെങ്കിൽ പിന്നെ മെറ്റയിൽ ജിഹാദികളാണ് അല്ലെങ്കിൽ അവരുടെ അനുകൂലികളാണ് കാവൽ നിൽക്കുന്നത് എന്ന് അനുമാനിക്കേണ്ടി വരും..!

ഈവിഷയത്തിലെ രാഷ്ട്രീയപ്രസക്തി എന്റെ അക്കൗണ്ടിൽ ഒതുങ്ങുന്നില്ല. കോൺഗ്രസ് നയിക്കുന്ന മുന്നണിയുടെ മുസ്‌ലിം ലീഗ് ആശ്രിതത്വത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും സംഘടിത മതസ്വത്വ രാഷ്ട്രീയം ലിബറൽ ജനാധിപത്യ നിലപാടുകളിൽ ചെലുത്താവുന്ന സമ്മർദത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിന് മുമ്പുതന്നെ ഞാൻ മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് നൽകിയിരുന്നു. ആ ആശങ്കയ്ക്ക് വിഷയത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ മറുപടി വേണം.

മതസംഘടനകളെ ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യാനുള്ള സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം ലിബറൽ രാഷ്ട്രീയം സംരക്ഷിക്കുമോ? അതോ ഏതൊക്കെ വിമർശനങ്ങൾ അസൗകര്യമ��ണെന്ന് മുന്നണിയിലെ കക്ഷിബലം ക്രമേണ തീരുമാനിക്കുമോ?
കോൺഗ്രസും മുസ്‌ലിം ലീഗും നിലപാട് വ്യക്തമാക്കണം. ഇസ്‌ലാമിസത്തെയും ജിഹാദി ആശയങ്ങളെയും രാഷ്ട്രീയ ഇസ്‌ലാമിനെയും വിമർശിക്കാനുള്ള അവകാശത്തെ നിങ്ങൾ പിന്തുണയ്ക്കുന്നുണ്ടോ? ആ വിമർശനം രൂക്ഷമാകുമ്പോഴും മതവികാരം വ്രണപ്പെടുന്നുവെന്ന് പരാതിയുയരുമ്പോഴും വോട്ടിന്റെ കണക്കിൽ അസൗകര്യമാകുമ്പോഴും ആ പിന്തുണ നിലനിൽക്കുമോ? അത്തരം അഭിപ്��ായപ്രകടനങ്ങൾ നിയന്ത്രിക്കുന്നതിൽ ഏതെങ്കിലും ഔദ്യോഗിക ഇടപെടൽ ഉണ്ടായിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ, അതിന്റെ വിവരങ്ങൾ പുറത്തുവിടണമെന്ന് ആവശ്യപ്പെടുമോ?

ഇസ്‌ലാമിസത്തെ വിമർശിക്ക���ന്നത് സ്വാഭാവികമായും മുസ്‌ലിം വിരോധമാകുന്നില്ല. ഇസ്‌ലാം ഒരു വംശമല്ല. ഇസ്‌ലാമിക രാഷ്ട്രീയം ഒരു പ്രത്യയശാസ്ത്ര പദ്ധതിയാണ്. മുസ്‌ലിംകളെ പ്രതിനിധീകരിക്കുന്നുവെന്ന് അവകാശപ്പെടുന്ന സംഘടനകളും പൊതുവിമർശനത്തിന് വിധേയമാണ്. മറ്റെല്ലാവരും ഉത്തരം പറയേണ്ട ചോദ്യങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് രാഷ്ട്രീയ സംഘടനകളെ രക്ഷിക്കുന്ന കവചമായി മതസ്വത്വം മാറരുത്.

അതല്ല ഇതാണ് ന്യായം എന്നാണ് നിങ്ങൾ കരുതുന്നത് എ���്കിൽ, പിന്നെ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് മോദിയെ ഫാഷിസ്റ്റ് എന്ന് വിളിക്കാൻ എന്ത് ധാർമിക അവകാശമാണ് ഉള്ളത്? ഇസ്ലാമിക സ്വത്വരാഷ്ട്രീയമാണ് ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ഫാഷിസ്റ്റ് എന്ന് ലോകം പറയുന്നത് ഏറ്റുപറയാൻ ഉള്ള വഴിയല്ലേ നിങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കി വെക്കുന്നത്. അതിന്റെ ഒടുവിൽ ഓരോ മുസ്ലിമും ഇതിന്റെ പണിയാളാണ് എന്ന് വരുത്തിത്തീർക്കാനല്ലേ നിങ്ങളുടെ മുസ്ലിം ഇരവാദം വഴിവെക്കുന്നത്? എന്നിട്ട് പഴി മുഴുവൻ സംഘിയുടെ ആലയിൽ ആ���ും അറിയാതെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി കെട്ടും. ആ പണി ഇനി നടപ്പില്ല. ന്യൂനപക്ഷ ഫാഷിസവും ന്യൂനപക്ഷ വർഗീയതയും ന്യൂനപക്ഷ ഗുണ്ടായി��വും ഇന്ന് നാട്ടുകാർക്ക് തിരിച്ചറിയാനുള്ള പ്രായം അറിയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട് എന്ന് ഓർക്കുന്നത് നന്ന്.

IPS Officer Nupur Prasad, who was associated with the investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput’s case, received the prestigious President’s Medal.

As Disha Salian’s father’s FIR and the evidence point toward questions that can no longer be ignored, the failures of the SSR case investigations demand serious scrutiny.

If innocent lives were lost and influential people were protected instead of the truth being pursued, then accountability cannot be selective.

The question remains: How was such a prestigious honour awarded to an officer associated with a case where justice remains elusive?

Awards may honour service, but justice must honour the truth.

After 6 long years, we need answers—not silence. Let the truth come out, whoever it implicates. 🙏🏼

An 80-year-old mother is offering to return her son's Shaurya Chakra.

Not in anger at the nation.
In exhaustion.

Assistant Commandant Vivek Saxena fell fighting terrorists in Manipur on 8 January 2003. The country gave him the Shaurya Chakra. The state promised his family land and a memorial. Twenty-two years later, Savitri Saxena is still being sent from office to office. Asked for domicile papers. Asked where she lived before marriage. Asked to keep waiting.

She is 80. She says she no longer has the strength to keep doing the rounds. So she has brought the medal to a grievance camp and said: if this is the honour we give a martyr's mother, take it back.

A son gave his life.
A mother is being asked to prove she belongs.

That should break something in all of us.

In Delhi, @RahulGandhi lectures about "smashing the patriarchy." In Keralam, his own party leaders physically assault a Dalit woman MLA - a former MP - from their own party.

Is there a clearer example of Congress hypocrisy?

Whatever their internal party disputes may be, physical assault on a woman, especially an elected representative from the Scheduled Caste community, can never be justified. If there are issues or allegations, let the law take its course through due process. Resorting to violence against an SC woman leader is completely unacceptable.

A party that cannot ensure the basic physical safety of its own elected woman representative from its own workers can never be trusted with the safety of Keralam’s citizens.

For decades, the CPM and Congress have normalized violence in Keralam’s political culture. When it comes to political violence and intimidation, they are not two but one. Randalla, onnanu.

We demand immediate, strict, and uncompromising legal action against everyone involved in this assault.

In 1991 aged 27, while at Intel, I chose to turn entrepreneur and attempt to build one of India's first wireless cellular networks and companies.

Most including in my family told me not to do it. I would not succeed I was told. They said I was not Hinduja, Tata or Birla, or an Ambani. I was told I needed to "own" MPs to succeed in this shark infested Delhi. That telecom was no place for a young startup.

I was just a 27-year-old entrepreneur building one of India’s largest cellular networks, working with Indian talent from the defence and telecom sectors and not relying on expensive expats.

To inspire my team and myself to embrace complex engineering and massive risks, I invited Neil Armstrong to Mumbai to share his experiences as the first man to ever walk on the moon.

It was an unforgettable experience that left us deeply inspired.

My team and I went on to build India’s first tech unicorn.

To young India, remember: with the right focus and a relentless team, even the Moon is within reach.

Many years on - I have done many things in life from semicon to media. Being a builder and being amongst real trailblazers is what keeps me inspired!

@anandmahindra this time onam was different. for years, muslim ustads & some pastors have been trying to say that onam is hindu & a no no for other faiths. this year muslim girls, in particular came out in large numbers dancing and celebrating onam defying the moulvis. same for christians.

In Karukutty g panchayat ward Christian majority too celebrates Onam in a big way ignoring some priests opposing it. Great.
