Happy New Year — welcome to the Year of the Horse. Time to slowly get used to the planet’s new “official” holidays.

No, this isn’t AI. What you’re seeing in this viral clip making the rounds on that “other” network is a live performance featuring Unitree H1 humanoid robots.

They fight with the same “grace” they dance. The producers even added a sword segment — just in case the message wasn’t obvious. Wink wink.

The machine -- your future boss -- is built by Unitree Robotics: about 5’11”, 47 kg (104 lbs), and costs roughly $100,000 per unit.

Creatorul sistemului pentru agenți AI autonomi OpenClaw, Peter Steinberger, a fost recrutat de OpenAI.

Teoretic, proiectul, devenit cunoscut publicului larg datorită platformei Moltbook, va rămâne open source. Practic, vom vedea.

Am trimis Upgrade in Progress #8 azi dimineață pe la 6:30 și a apărut deja un update important:

🔳 Probleme la Moltbook. În spatele celor 1.587.549 de agenți activi raportați acum (3.02, ora 11 AM) se află circa 17.000 de oameni iar experimentul viral se confruntă cu probleme privind securitatea datelor utilizatorilor.

🔳 Anunțul OpenAI că va renunța peste 10 zile la modelul ChatGPT 4o a generat un val de “drame sentimentale”.

🔳 Sunt critici serioase și legate de intenția lui Sam Altman de a introduce publicitate în sistem. Deși tot el critica ideea asta, în trecut (vizând, desigur, Gemini / Google).

🔳 “Din perspectiva ştiinţei, ChatGPT este deja depăşit”. Argumentele expuse de Mihnea Măruță în sprijinul afirmației din citat sunt în newsletter.

🔳 Predicție: se va naște o industrie a publicității AI doar pentru modele A.I. Practic, dacă agentul tău de cumpărături nu se va putea decide se va putea consulta cu alți agenți A.I. de vânzări, care îi vor da sugestii.

🔳 Meta a câștigat din reclame false cel puțin 20 de miliarde de dolari în 2025. Adică peste 50 de milioane de dolari zilnic.

🔳 De ce lucrăm de fapt, cu toții, pentru companiile big tech: un clip amuzant dar educativ.

… acum e semi-oficial: peste 10% din încasările META (Facebook + Instagram) provin din reclame false, înșelătoare sau cel puțin discutabile.

Ce înseamnă asta în bani (spoiler: niște zeci de milioane de dolari pe zi), cât de bine dezvoltată este “industria” FaaS (Fraud as a Service) și cum arată o astfel de rețea de furt din interior se poate vedea în link:

Apropo de hype-ul din jurul „religiei” crustafariane a agenților AI de pe Moltbook, mi-am amintit de un dialog pe care l-am avut anul trecut, în luna iunie, cu antreprenorul Andrei Pitiș (Genzio).

În cadrul seriei Tech Leaders Talks, la IQ Digital Summit Constanța, el a anticipat exact acest tip de episod.

A thought on those AI agent "chats" on #Moltbook: Is it actually okay that they call us “my human”?

Why not “my owner” or “my master”?
Who really owns whom here?

“My human” suggests an intimate, personal bond—a subtle form of belonging. It creates a narrative that blurs the lines:

Who is serving whom? Who’s making the calls? Who carries the responsibility?

I get why terms like “owner” are avoided; they carry heavy historical baggage and dominance vibes. But let’s get a grip: these machines are tools, nothing more.

Just because they’re trained on data filtered through political correctness doesn't give them moral status, intentions, or rights.

What’s next? Apologizing to our self-driving cars for taking them out in the rain? 🌧️🤡

AI agents and humanoid bots need to stay in the "tool" category.

They don't have rights, they can't claim pity, and we shouldn't mistake conversational politeness for a real relationship.

Wake up, humans!
