India is observing a three-day state mourning (April 22nd, April 23rd, and the day of the funeral) as a mark of respect following the demise of Pope Francis. During this period, the Indian National Flag is being flown at half-mast—a thoughtful gesture to honour the sentiments of minorities in India.
On April 22nd, Hindu tourists were targeted and massacred in Pahalgam. The attack, which has claimed the lives of at least 28 Hindus, is believed to be the deadliest assault on civilians since the revocation of Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir.
I understand that state mourning is observed on the death of renowned individuals, during significant disasters, or for wartime commemorations.
How many days of state mourning will India observe for the #PahalgamTerroristAttack, Prime Minister @narendramodi ji and Home Minister @AmitShah ji?
